"Listen, I'm sorry about your brother, and your niece, but I don't think you need to lose your mom." Jayson says.
"What's your secret" I say looking at him. His face shifts from concern to innocents. "Come on, I just poured my feelings out into a bowl and you won't even share a little?"
"You know what your mom is probably really worried we should go" he changes the topic back.
"I don't give a damn about her right now" I say. "But you are not going anywhere until you tell me your secret"
"There is no secret" he says calmly. I raise my eye brow at him and he tilts his head to the side. That's never good. "You don't believe me" he says calmly.
I shake my head slowly with a grin on my face. He moves closer and I back up until I am against the door. The rock holding the door open slips and the door slams shut. "Oops" I say without thinking.
"What did you do?!" he says with his face in his palm.
"Don't worry I can call someone" I say taking out my phone. "And I have no service"
"Me eithier" Jayson says.
"So how are we getting out of this one?" I say plopping down on the couch. Jayson looks around the roof.
"Over here" He says pointing to a ladder on the side of the building that lead to the ground.
"You're kidding me right?" I say raising an eyebrow.
"It's not that bad." he says looking down. "If it makes you feel better, I'll go first." He walks over to the edge of the building and steps over on to the ladder. He steps down a few steps, then yells to me to come.
I walk over to the edge of the building and I take a deep breath. I step over onto the ladder. "You good?" Jayson asks.
"Yes, just go" I say quickly stepping down each steps with caution.
Jayson steps on the last sets of ladders and it slips off the wall and falls to the ground. I turn myhead around quickly and look down. "Are you okay?" I say loudly.
"Yeah I'm fine, but we'll have to jump from here" he says looking up at me.
"Fat chance" I say beginning to climb back up.
"You're not going back up." I look down to see Jayson already on the ground. "Just jump it's not far, I'll catch you"
I take one last look down, "Fine" I say before letting go of the ladder.
I fall back and the wind rushed between me and I feel gravity pull me down and within a split second I feel arms under my knees and behind my back. Comfort and rush fulfill me and I let out a breath. I open one eye and then the other to bright crystal blue eyes making mine feel dim.
Jayson puts my feet on the ground without a word from eithier of us, not losing eye contact the whole time. I bit my lip and smile softy.
A shiver goes down my back and I flinch. "Are you cold" he asked.
"A little" I say crossing my arms.
"Here" he say beginning to take off his sweater.
"No, then you'll be cold" I say stopping him from taking it off by grabbing the two sides and pulling them together.
"Don't worry about me" he says removing my hands from his jacket and taking it off. He puts it around my shoulders and grabs my hand. "Let's go"
