The hot summer air of Japan made the moist sweat stick to the back of his neck and the inside of his thick sweatshirt. He would have preferred to be wearing something suitable for this weather, but because he had been in a desperate rush just days ago, this was all he had for clothing. Despite the incredible discomfort, this was a much better situation than what he had been living with for the past few years.
Feeling his phone vibrating in his pocket, he picked it up, read the caller, and answered the phone. He never wanted to do this job, never wanted to turn to something like this, but desperate times called for desperate measures, and he had no choice but to take the call. His group was counting on him for this job.
"This Motomiya?" The caller asked.
Hesitating for a moment, Motomiya responded, "Yeah."
"Wait, really? You sound pretty young for a villain. Anyway, the plan still on?" The caller asked.
"Yes, we meet at the jewelry store near Dagoba Beach and..." He thought of the actions he would need to take, what he might have to do, "And take everything. No... matter what."
Motomiya threw up the gray hood of his sweatshirt over his shoulder-length red hair that hadn't been cared for in much too long. Rummaging through his pockets as he reached the glass door to a shop filled with silver and gold jewelry, he took out a small notepad and pen and entered the shop. It was a smaller yet extravagant shop lined with all the precious jewelry a woman could desire.
He went up to the person at the register and started writing on the notepad.
"Hello, is there anything you're-"
Motomiya finished writing. "Give me anything valuable in here," He said, activating his quirk. The person immediately went into a blank state and strolled over to a stand with necklaces hanging on the ends.
He took off his nearly empty backpack and unzipped it, opening the main pocket for the jewelry to be put in by the employee. "Where is he?" He thought to himself, "He should be here by now." He looked around, peering through the windows and desperately hoping his accomplice would show.
With each second that passed and each piece of jewelry that was placed in the backpack, Motomiya's heart beat faster and faster, his anxiety clawing at him and whispering exaggerations of the real world to him. Something didn't seem right to him. His accomplice should have been here minutes ago, but no one had shown up.
Behind him, the door slammed open to reveal a blonde haired hero in an all black body suit with parts of his body wrapped in caution tape running full speed at him. He quickly dropped the backpack and scribbled some words in his notebook. "Stop!" He said. The heroes limbs suddenly came to a halt and sent him falling to the ground. He grabbed the backpack and put it on, sprinting out the door of the shop and away from the hero.
"My quirk will wear off once I get ten meters away from him. I need to-" He thought until he was interrupted by the ground below him crumbling and collapsing in on itself. His feet lost its grip on the flat sidewalk and fell into the meter deep hole of the once sidewalk below him. Falling into the pit, he landed on one of his ankles where it snapped at the heavy impact, leaving him unable to run away.
"Seriously, kid?" The hero started, walking towards the hole Motomiya had fallen into. "Stealing from a jewelry store in the middle of the day is just plain stupid." He grabbed a phone from his pocket and dialed in a number. "Hello? Yeah, I caught a guy robbing a store. If you could get someone to take him to the station, that would be nice. You can? 'Ight bye."
The hero jumped into the hole where Motomiya lay, put the phone back in his pocket, and raised his arm. Motomiya instinctively flinched, raising his arms above his head as a shield and moving his legs up to shield his stomach. Everything important was shielded to withstand a blow. Looking up, he saw his dad back at home with an empty booze bottle in his hand, ready to strike.
"Are you okay?" The hero asked, kneeling down to the boy's level. His face had an expression of true empathy, the apologetic look in his eyes calming Motomiya down and bringing him back to reality.
Motomiya nodded silently and attempted to get up. A quick piercing pain shot up from the base of his foot to the snapped ankle, causing him to lose balance and stumble forward. The hero reached out his arms and grabbed him, putting the boy's arm around his shoulder to keep him from falling.
Coming at a fast pace from the distance, the loud sirens of a police car could be heard rapidly approaching, and with a screech, it halted. Two officers exited the vehicle, one with a pair of handcuffs. The hero helped Motomiya out of the hole and walked him over to the officer, who then handcuffed him and shoved him into the back of the car.
"Kaillapse, can you stop making such a mess when you go after villains? At this rate, you cause more damage than the villains themselves," The officer said, crossing her arms and smirking.
"Yeah, yeah. I know," The hero, Kaillapse, said. He then glanced at the kid in the car and darkened his eyes. "Don't be too hard on him. I don't think it was his fault that he went and tried robbing some guy."
The officer looked confused. "What do you mean?"
Kaillapse glanced at Motomiya again, who was staring blankly at the floor of the police car. "Kid's probably going through something."
"I'll put in a good word with the chief," The officer responded, walking back to the car with her partner, hopping in, and driving off.

Motomiya sat in a metal chair in an interrogation room at the police station. His mind was rushing to try and explain himself without having to spill anything he didn't want to or couldn't, trying to come up with some sort of decent explanation for his actions, causing his leg to bounce uncontrollably and his hands to figit with themselves and claw at the skin around his nails. If only he had been given better luck.
The door to the room opened, and two people walked in and sat across from him. One of them had a notepad and pen. "Good afternoon. I'm Shoya Makishima, and this is Tamaki Takahashi. We both work here as interrogators. You've been detained for attempted robbery and unlicensed use of quirk, and we're here to ask you a few questions," The interrogator without the notepad introduced. "Our job is to determine what happens to you."
Motomiya gulped as he heard the interrogators' words. He already knew that he wouldn't get out of this easy.
