Motomiya and Saionji ran as fast as they could to the entrance of the USJ. Saionji was busy fixing her purple mask to her face as she sprinted.
"Mr. Aozora is gonna be pissed!" Saionji yelled.
"Yeah," He replied. They had both unexpectedly overslept that morning, and the rest of the students who had yet to take the provisional licensing exam had left them at the dorms.
As they got to the entrance, Saionji kicked open the door, and they both sprinted down the stairs to where Daiba, Akira, Tenma, and Ueshima were. "We're here!" She told Aozora, who was standing next to Thirteen, loudly.
"About time," He responded. "What took you so long?"
They both panted, tired from the frantic sprinting they had done just to try and make it here on time. "We overslept," Motomiya admitted quietly. "Sorry."
Aozora sighed. "It's fine," He said. He then glanced at Thirteen beside him and nodded.
"This is the Unforseen Simulation Joint, also known as the USJ," She started. "This building is a facility designed to simulate different kinds of disaster scenarios, such as floods, fires, landslides, and shipwrecks. The purpose of today's class is to prepare you for the provisional licensing exam taking place in just a couple of weeks and actual rescue missions in real disasters." She held out a hand. "As you may know, my quirk is Black Hole, and if used incorrectly, it can be extremely dangerous. Using your quirks correctly and carefully will ensure the safety of both civilians and other heroes. For this class, there are a number of dummies located in each of the disaster zones. You will need to rescue these dummies without damaging them in any way and bring them back to the central plaza."
"Like real disasters, there will be a time limit," Aozora stated, "Heroes are required to save as many people as quick as possible during their work. You will have thirty minutes. We encourage you to work together. Now, Begin!"
They all turned to each other. "We only have thirty minutes, and there's eight zones and six of us," Saionji stated. "We're gonna have to split up for some of this class."
"I can take the flood and shipwreck zones," Ueshima said, raising his hand.
"I can definitely do the conflagration zone," Daiba said.
Akira looked around at all of the distant zones. "I can do the landslide," He said.
Tenma had his eyes fixed on the tall, jagged peaks of the mountain zone. "I can take the mountain and tornado zones."
"I could do the collapsed city zone," Motomiya said.
"That leaves me with the downpour zone," Saionji let out. "If any of you finish early, I'll need some help with my zone. It'll be harder to use my quirk in it."
"We can switch if you-" Motomiya offered before being interrupted.
"Nah, it's fine," She interjected. "It'll just be more realistic with the situation."
With the zones picked out for each student, they all left the central plaza and headed off to their respective zones.
Motomiya ran at a consistent pace, preserving his energy for what may come. He had thought it best for him to be in charge of the ruined city zone due to the tight spaces that the test dummies may be trapped in. He had always been quite flexible and able to squeeze himself into tight spaces with his slender body, and it felt right for him to be over here due to that.
Once he reached the area, he took a deep breath in and then let it out. The city was completely and utterly destroyed, with large buildings leaning on top of each other, their windows shattered, and many other buildings being reduced to large heaps of rubble. Many of the leaning structures looked so unstable that if a small breeze occurred, it would collapse and crush anything near it. He needed to be careful. One wrong move and death would ensue.
"Is anyone here?" He called out, unsure if the dummies had voice boxes that would be activated by his voice. Nothing responded. "This is going to be tough," He sighed.
"Help! Someone, please help!" A robotic voice suddenly shouted, startling Motomiya. It was close, very close. He noticed a large pile of rubble located under a fallen piece of wall with a plastic hand reaching out. He ran toward it and examined it, trying to find a point of entry so that he could safely rescue the dummy. There was a small gap between some of the rubble that peered into a small air pocket where the dummy lay. The dummies arm was trapped underneath some of the debris. He wouldn't be able to move it with just his regular strength.
He took out his notepad and wrote some characters down, his hand gliding across the paper with a speed comparable to Ingenium. "The debris will crumble into fine dust," He said. As soon as he activated his quirk, all of the debris in a twelve meter radius disintegrated into a pile of dust. Sure, he couldn't make things appear or disappear out of thin air, but he could modify them to a degree.
The test dummy was now free. He scooped it up into his arms and ran back to the central plaza. Making his way there, he saw a line of eleven test dummies on the floor. All of his classmates were already ahead of him, and here he was with only one saved dummy. He felt pathetic compared to them.
"Catch this for me, will you?" Tenma asked right before dropping a test dummy from the air.
Motomiya looked up and saw the dummy barreling down at him from the sky. Frantically, he held out his arms and aimed for where the dummy would be, catching it and laying it next to the others. He then ran back to his zone to find the rest of the dummies.
During the rest of the class, he used the same tactics of calling out for the test dummies, locating them based on sound, and either turning rubble into dust or increasing his strength with his quirk.
Now, with only two minutes remaining, he sprinted across the walkways, jumped over smaller debris, zig-zagged around fallen buildings, and made his way back to the central plaza. He saw Saionji and Daiba sprinting towards the central plaza with dummies as well, both completely drenched from the downpour zone.
Back at the central plaza, he set down his test dummy and bent down to catch his breath.
"We made it," Daiba let out.
"And with a couple of minutes to spare," Saionji added.
Aozora and Thirteen looked at the test dummies on the ground. "Fifty out of fifty test dummies," Thirteen said, "Congratulations, you passed today's class!"
"We both watched how each of you handled rescuing the dummies," Aozora said. "Each of you rescued them safely and responsibly while using your quirks in the best way you could." He then took on a more serious tone. "You six take the provisional licensing exam with class 1-B very soon. I hope you can take what you learned here and apply it to the test when the time comes. Don't forget that even though most hero work involves fighting and capturing villains, a lot of it requires the rescuing and evacuating of civilians."
"Yes, sir!" They all answered.

I'm going to go on a short hiatus, so there probably won't be any chapter updates for a couple of weeks.
