"And what do you recommend?" Roose questioned.
"That we not sit and wait for Stannis to decide what sort of fight this is going to be. That we hit first and hit hard and leave a feast for the crows." Ramsay declared confidently.
"Ramsay is right, Stannis wont know what to do, he was on storms end and dragonstone. He is a commander, knows battle but not the north. He will plan. The longer we give him the more of a chance he has at succeeding."
"A smart commander does not abandon a defensive advantage. As long as we stay behind these walls, they can't touch us. Not to mention that the snow is so deep, we couldn't get an army through to engage them even if we wanted to." Roose corrected him.
"I don't need an army. I need 20 good men." Ramsay decided smiling back at them.
"I think thats a great idea." Rieka declared. "Let ramsay prove himself." She added. She offered her sweetest smile. She hoped Ramsay went out to fight stannis and died. "He thinks himself capable and i believe in Ramsays ability and skills." She added with a sweet smile batting her eyelashes.
"Fine." Roose agreed. "Gather your men. You head out tomorrow."
Tomorrow couldn't come fast enough
Rieka paced back and forth in her room for what felt like hours when someone knocked on her door. She swallowed the lump in her throat and moved to the door. Her hand covered above the knob before she sucked up her courage and pulled it open.
She expected it to be her awful husband but no. It was theon staring back at her. She had so many words, but none of them would come. Her mouth opened and closed wordlessly before she gestured for him to come in.
" I found this when I was cleaning..." he said, holding out a book. " I remember it used to be one of your favorites..." he looked at her stomach. She hadn't bundled up. she hadn't covered herself. His gaze Lingered on her stomach. On their baby. But he could never know. No one could. It would put both her and the baby in danger. Theon as well.
" thank you." she answered finally after what felt like an age. " that was kind of you." her words were choppy as she swallowed the lump in her throat over and over again. Being in the kennels with him was one thing, but being in her room alone with him again, brought back feelings and emotions that she wanted to keep buried.
Maybe it was the hormones she would've loved to blame the hormones. After all she had Greyjoy in her system. She had a teeny human being that was getting quite large that was half Theon.
All the contradicting feelings and emotions that were going through her head right now she was blaming on the hormones and theons kind gesture.
"You are beautiful. So beautiful." Theon whispered. "Of course you are glowing..." rieka blushed.
"Hes kicking."
"He is?" Theon took a step closer before cowering back.
"You want to..." no that would be weird. "Give me your hand." Theon hesitated reaching a hand out. She grabbed his hand gently and put it on her stomach. "Can you feel that?" Theon stared at his hand on her stomach. He felt a little kick.
"Your baby is so strong."
"Kicks me constsntly. I think he is ready to come out."
"Thats fast isnt it? Early?" Theon questioned before back tracking. "I dont know anything about babies. Never mind."
"It... is getting late." Rieka whispered. Theon let his hand fall from her stomach. "Thank you for the book... thank you for stopping by Theon," rieka added
"Goodnight Rieka. Thank you for allowing me in."
