Chapter 39
Julie's POV:
We piled in the car, Jessa driving, me in the passenger seat, and Charlie in the back. I felt like it was a road trip kinda thing, only road trips were fun, and this wasn't. Charlie suggested we drive around the park, to see if he was sleeping on a park bench or something. We did, but couldn't find him. It was getting pretty dark outside, but I refused to stop looking. I finally suggested we go to a local college campus to see if any of Oliver's friends were just keeping his whereabouts a secret. We got there after a long drive. We walked around, even though it was dark. Charlie told us to separate, but Jessa and I stuck together. We walked around the boy dorms, hoping to catch a glimpse of Oliver in them. We just past the last room when we saw a figure walked towards us from far away. We stopped, looked at each other, and quickly ran to the person. We stopped a couple feet in front of the person. We saw it was a guy. I excitedly looked to Jessa, who smiled back. I tentatively stepped forward under the lamp. The guy took a step back, surprised. He smiled and took a step forward. He was now under the street lamp. I took a good look at him and gasped.
