He looked at me with a grin, but his smile slipped a little due to my serious tone.

"If you had a free life with free options and opportunities. What would you do?"

Chat looked at me for a long time before turning away. He looked tense and I almost regretted having ruined the beautiful moment. He waited a long time before answering.

"Phew, that's a tough question. I've never thought about that before."

Although his voice was calm and relaxed, I was unsure whether it was the same inside him.

He ran his fingers through his hair thoughtfully and looked out into the starry night.

I silently snuggled into the blanket and leaned my head against his shoulder, which made him stop flinching.

Chat didn't say anything for a long time. But for the first time, the silence didn't make me uncomfortable. The platform we were on was like a shelter where neither time nor mistakes existed.

So I listened to the rustling wind, the quiet city noises and Chat's calming breaths.

"If I could do anything in the world..." he suddenly began and I looked up. He was still staring at the stars, absorbed.

"Then I would study medicine."

I paused for a moment. I would have expected anything but that. While the wish seemed ordinary and normal to me, it was probably unattainable for Chat.

"Given the choice, I would prefer to save lives."

I was silent for a while. And I wondered how much the story with his mom had influenced that, but I didn't ask.

"Then that's what you should do," I said.

Chat gave me a snivelling look and opened his mouth, but I gently placed my index finger on his lips.

"What's stopping you, Chat? What exactly is stopping you from just cutting yourself loose? You're an adult and you should take the right to live your life by your own rules."

We just looked at each other for a long time.

But I didn't need an answer from him, which he probably didn't have yet. It was enough for me that he listened and thought about it.

Something changed in his expression and his eyes looked at me warmly.

"That's a nice idea," he said softly and leaned over to my side to feel my forehead against his.

It made me feel safe and his hair falling lightly on me gave me a pleasant tingling sensation.

It was almost more intimate than if we were kissing.

I wondered if he had moments like that with Juliette too.

Oh my God, Juliette!

What was I actually doing?

Chat realized that I was stiffening and looked at me questioningly. I was far too upset to realize how much I missed his warm forehead against my skin.

Contrite, I looked at him.

What was I supposed to say? I only knew about Juliette because he had told me about it as Ladybug.

"I was wondering...", I began, and I tweezed my bangs to stall for time.
