*Alex's POV*
The door slammed shut, leaving me and Kayak alone in the living room. I turned to the beautifully inked girl next to me, my mind searching frantically for something to talk about.
"So are you excited?" I asked her, trying to maintain my cool composure. "Totally!" Kayak said enthusiastically, jumping around a little. God, she was so fucking cute. I laughed a little and she stopped and looked at me.
"Are you laughing at me? You wanna fight you little punk?" She challenged. I laughed at the thought of the skinny pink haired girl trying to beat me up. "Oh you wanna fight. Bring it on Gaskarth. I'll kick your ass!" She said. "Yeah, right" I scoffed. Suddenly I was pinned to the floor.
"I wasn't ready yet!" I protested. "Whatever helps you sleep at night" Kayak laughed, getting up and offering me a hand. She was unusually strong for such a thin little thing. As soon as I was up, I looked at the ink adorning her limbs. She cleared her throat and I realized I hadn't released her hand.
"Oh. Sorry" I muttered, embarrassment creeping into my voice. Get it together, Gaskarth! My brain screamed. After letting go of her hand she looked at me for a second, a shy smile on her lips. "So..um..Kayak. That's an interesting name" I said stupidly. She laughed her little laugh, driving me crazy.
"It's a nickname Dekoda gave me in 8th grade. My name is Sabrina" she explained. I had seen her around the house before, in the kitchen going through the fridge, on the deck smoking an occasional cigarette or two with Dekoda. "Interesting" I said to her, trying to keep the conversation going. I went over to the fridge and grabbed a beer.
"Want one?" I asked her, holding it up for her to see. "Sure" she replied with a smile. I tossed one to her and walked into the living room, sitting down on the couch. I patted the spot next to me, motioning for her to sit with me.
She sat down and grabbed the remote, flipping through a few channels before stopping on The Walking Dead. We watched in silence for about 5 minutes. Well, she did. I took in all of her features, watching her facial expressions as she watched the show.
A scream blared over the TV, causing her to flail her limbs, hitting me in the face. "I didn't mean to! Im sorry!" Kayak squealed. "You wanna fight?" I asked, using her own retort against her. "I didn't-" before she could finish I tackled her.
She squirmed under my weight. "Revenge!" I thundered. "You cheated!" She yelled. I used her own words against her again, saying that whatever helped her sleep at night. She stopped wiggling around for a minute.
"Your sister thinks you have a thing for me" she said suddenly. Fuck. Of course Dekoda knew I liked her. She knew me almost as well as Jack did. "Maybe I do" I said mysteriously. Her eyes held a little sparkle. Did she like me too?
Suddenly an idea popped into my head. I leaned my face down, till I was inches from her. I could hear her breathing quicken. Finally, I leaned in and kissed her. Her soft lips moved in sync with mine.
The door swung open before anything else could happen. "Um..do you want us to leave?"
