*Kayak's POV*
I smiled at the girl in front of me. "That'll be 20 bucks" I said. She handed me the money and smiled so wide I thought her face would rip in half.
Running the merch table was kind of hard sometimes, but it had it had it's perks. Happy fans were one of them. Suddenly a girl with jet black hair came up to the tent. She was pale as a ghost and covered in sweat, and she looked like she was going to die.
"Are you okay?" I asked her. She looked at me like a lost puppy. "Can I sit in the tent for a few minutes?" She panted. "Of course you can!" I turned to Dekoda. "I have to go get that girl a water and some food. She looks like she's going to pass out" I whispered to her.
"I got it covered."
I got 2 bottles of water and a hotdog for the ghostly girl back at our tent. She had her eyes closed when I returned.
I knelt down and touched her shoulder lightly. "Hey, I got something for you" I said quietly. Her eyes opened slowly, scanning my face. I pressed a bottle of cold water to her hand. "You need this" I said slowly. You didn't have to tell her twice.
I watched her gulp down the water. She looked at the food in my hand, then to my face. "It's all yours" I smiled.
Her face lit up and she smiled so brightly that I ended up doing the same. "You can chill out here with us for a little bit if you want" I offered. She looked at my thankfully, then stuck her hand out. "My name is Lyla" she said. "Nice to meet you Lyla" I smiled.
*Lyla's POV*
I could barely see straight. Sweat dropped into my face and stung my eyes, and my breath was short and heavy. An idea floated into my barely working brain, and I looked for a merch tent.
My eyes landed on the All Time Low tent, manned by two smiling girls. I sauntered over slowly, praying it would work. I hadn't even said a word before the black haired girl looked me over with concern. "Are you okay?" She asked me. "Can I sit in the tent for a few minutes?"
"Of course you can!" She said. She turned to her red haired friend and whispered something, to which her friend replied "I got it covered."
The shade felt like heaven, and I closed my eyes. A few minutes later, a hand was on my shoulder and a voice said "Hey, I got something for you."
I opened my eyes, at first only seeing the thin girl in front of me. Then I felt something being pressed into my palm. "You need this" she said with a little smile. She had also got me a hotdog and let me stay in the tent for a little while.
Before she returned to her job, I stuck my hand out. "My name is Lyla" I introduced myself. "Nice to meet you Lyla" she said, a smile on her face.
"My name is Sabrina, but everyone calls me Kayak" she said. I nodded and smiled. "I have to get back to work, but feel free to ask me or Dekoda if you need anything, okay?"
"Okay" I said happily. Kayak returned back to her station and I found myself drifting into unconsciousness.
