Their lives had been perfect, Izuku couldn't have asked for more. It had been two years since Katsuki had become a professional hero, shortening his hero name to just Dynamight. It had been two years since Izuku graduated from his high school and started his career as a professional quirk analyst.
Izuku was so proud that his talents hadn't gone to waste. His number one customer was Nedzu-san, purely because he has Izuku do an analysis on every hero course each year. Izuku was happy about it, as Nedzu constantly boasted about how his analyses were always getting better, getting him more large groups as customers, which paid him evidently more.
The last few years had been hard, him and Katsuki thrown out into the world alongside their now five year old daughter. She had a very rough year last year, having been announced quirkless. It had started off really bad, her insecurities getting the better of her.
Though Katsuki hadn't let that go on for long. Every night he would give her a new speech. Izuku never knew what they were about, but they worked. She had come to them, claiming she wanted to be the first quirkless hero. Both boys encouraged her as much as possible, he didn't want to make her feel the way he had felt when he was young.
Izuku was excited, it was almost his and Katsuki's five year anniversary. Izuku was ready to spoil Katsuki, as on any other days he would complain that the spoiling wasn't necessary. Izuku had been getting suspicious recently, though he always did during this time.
Katsuki had always done something big for their anniversary. The biggest one was during their four year anniversary last year, when Katsuki had gotten him many types of bouquets; flowers, candy, office supplies, self-care items, and hero merch. Izuku cried for a few hours after he got his surprise, it was so thoughtful of Katsuki.
This year was different though. Katsuki had gotten Shinsou in on it. Katsuki and Shinsou had never really gotten along in high school. Once they got older they had gotten less likely to attack each other, mostly because Izuku wanted them to get along.
Izuku tried to ask Ichika if she knew what her dad was planning, as she was in on it last year. Izuku was so confused. What could Katsuki be keeping from him and Ichika, but sharing freely with Shinsou.
As the day came up Izuku's anxiety had just gotten worse. Ichika still had no clue what was going on and neither did her. The only normal thing about the day was that Katsuki had picked out their outfits. Izuku chose to shove his anxiety aside as he and Katsuki left for their usual anniversary dinner, leaving Ichika with Shinsou to babysit.
They went to their usual anniversary restaurant, they always had a table open for them during this time of year. They got their usual dinners and just enjoyed each other's company. Izuku doesn't know how Katsuki still managed to make him blush all the time, though he loved the fact just as much as it confused him.
Usually they would get dessert at the restaurant, but Katsuki made them leave before they could. They would usually go for a short walk around the park as well, but Katsuki insisted they take the long route around instead. Izuku agreed for the sake of not confusing himself anymore.
Izuku was telling Katsuki about one of the quirks he had analyzed earlier in the day when he slowly lowered his volume.
Izuku was shocked, there were two rows of candles, lighting up one of the trees that the two would always climb as kids. Izuku turned around only to see Shinsou standing next to Katsuki as they sent Ichika over to Izuku.
Shinsou sent the blonde forward and slowly backed away while pulling his phone out. Izuku looked back at the blonde just as he got down on one knee. Izuku put his hands up to his mouth as Katsuki started speaking.
"Izuku, My Love, we've known each other for just over twenty years. I'll admit that during some of those years I wasn't the best person, but I want to make up for all of that. These last five years have been the best years of my life. I got to watch you grow beside me as we raised a beautiful little girl together. I'm so honored that I can proudly call you my other half. So, Midoriya Izuku, will you do me the honor of letting me be your other half?"
Izuku's hand was still covering his mouth, the other wiping his tears. He flung himself towards Katsuki, Ichika following through to join the family hug.
"Yes, Kacchan! Yes, I do!" Izuku was crying tears of joy at this point, not knowing how else to react.
Shinsou stopped the recording and sent the video to the group chat they had created in their first year.
