Aurora's POV:-

It's been a week, and each time I wake up, a glimpse of him flashes in my mind.

About the incident that took place after the event...

One week ago (after the event):

After the event ended, I got into the car with Cole, and he began driving, asking,
"How was your day?" It's not okay if he asks this kind of question; it means something has upset him. A slight smirk showed up on my face.
"Better. What about you?"

"Do you know that guy you were drinking with?"

"Ahmm, no. But he was nice," I said, smiling.

He angrily slammed his hand on the steering wheel and said, "He's a bugger. You can't drink with him, Aura."

"And what are you? A perfect man? And please, don't tell me what to do."

"It affects my image. What will others say if they saw you with other men?" he yelled.

"You should have thought about it before spoiling my life, Cole," I retorted.

"Don't talk rubbish."

"Oh, now I am talking rubbish, right? What about when I caught you with that other woman?"

"Shut your mouth or-" he raised his hand.

"Or what, Mr. Wilson? Are you going to slap me? If yes, you better not."

"I am not going to slap you. And don't try to get on my nerves."

"I will not, and please don't try to play nice with me. I know who you really are," I said with a smile, concluding the night.

Today, I had cheesecake for breakfast, and it's delicious. A message popped up on my phone screen:
"Tomorrow at ******. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson are invited to Mr. Smith's wedding ceremony."

Ahmm, it sounds like I have to spend my time at the bar's counter, drinking mojitos. Then, the thought of him crosses my mind.

After finishing my cake, I took a bath, wore my lavender tracksuit, and started writing my new book.
After graduation, I started writing novels online, which paid well. Even though Cole comes from a well-off family and my in-laws are nice, I want to purchase everything on my own. In the future, if we ever get divorced, I won't be indebted to him.

I had lentils and rice for dinner and went to sleep.
In the morning, I had milk coffee, a great bath, and wore a peach front-slit gown with pearl earrings, necklace, and white block heels. I drove myself to church, sat alone on a bench, and received a message from Cole:
-"I won't be able to come to the wedding."
I wanted to say the f-word to him; instead, I replied, -"Okay."

🖤🖤🖤

I watched a couple tying vows, starting their new life as life partners. I prayed for them not to end up like me. When the after-party started at the banquet, I arrived in a black gown with rose gold accessories and black heels, congratulated the newlyweds, took a cupcake, and sat at a table away from other people.

I spotted a man congratulating the couple in an olive suit. Is it Aiden? I shouldn't look at him eagerly, but he won't notice me from this far. I stared at him for minutes and then I started checking my phone and Someone called my name, "Aurora?" Who knows my name here? It must be Adain. After a few seconds, my brain functioned, and I looked up.
"Ad-Mr. Cardiff."

"Yeah, can I sit here?"

"Of course, you gave me company last time, and it's my turn to pay back."

"No, it's not necessary if you don't want me to."
"No I would like to sit with you. and Now, this seat is only reserved for you."

"Really? This would be my pleasure to sit with you, Aurora," he smirked.

"Do you often come to these events?"

"Ahmm, sometimes if it's okay with my schedule."

"Oh, you must be a busy man. Huh?"

"Kind of. If you don't mind, can I ask you one question?"
"Yup," I replied while chewing a cupcake.

"You better finish it first," he grinned.

"You shouldn't make fun of a lady, Mr. Cardiff," I glared at him.

"At least wipe that cream first," he started laughing hard this time.

My anger increased. "Fine, I will go somewhere else."

I stood up, then he blocked my way. "Stop, I am sorry," he apologized while grabbing his ears, which was way too cute for a man.

"Okay, fine. Now ask what you wanted to."

"Don't you have any friends?"

"It's a long story. In short, we broke our friendship because of misunderstandings."

"Is your husband the reason for the misunderstandings?"

"He is the sole reason."

"It's okay, Aurora. Everything will get better soon." I don't know why, but this line soothed me.
"Can I have your number, Aiden?"
"Yeah, sure."

We had lunch together unknowingly, and I saw him off with a smile, hoping to meet this friend again.
