Chapter10:Heartbeat

Aurora's POV:-

Aurora was ten years old when her father was alive.

One day, I was bullied by a senior at my school. Stubborn as I was, I gave her a fist in her stomach.
the principal called my father,Instead of scolding me He said,

"Aurora has never beaten anyone, but if she did today, it must have been the other one's mistake."

Then he rose and warned the senior's father,
"Don't ever let your daughter come near mine, or I'll handle it myself."

I was somewhat surprised by my dad's rowdiness. When we reached home, he told me to never be afraid of anyone, not even him. Later dad ordered pizza to cheer me up.

That evening, he called me into the hall and played his favorite song, "My Girl" by The Temptations. Then, he took my hand, and we danced for a few minutes, the laughter lightening my mood.

"See, we will dance like this at your wedding too," he said.

"It's a trick to make everyone happy. I know you were sad all day, kiddo."

I cried while hugging him and told him everything before falling asleep. The next morning, I found myself sleeping next to my mother and father.

"Would you like to dance with me, Aiden?" I asked, not knowing it would turn my world into heaven.

"No need to ask, Cariad. Just dream of anything, and I'll make it true for you."

As his words left his lips, my heart pounded. There was no need to read into it; his words were alive, unlike Cole's, which made me question everything I knew about him.

Aiden played "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran and knelt down in front of me, taking my hand in his just like a gentleman. He pulled me onto the floor, and for the first time, I realized how tall he was, maybe 6'5" or more. We moved slowly, like teenagers at prom.
I leaned against his chest, listening to his heartbeat. "Thanks again, Aiden."

"Ga i gneifio'r cwtch di am byth yn fy nghyfrŷn os rhoi di ganiatâd i mi, cariad,"

he said. I didn't understand a single word.
"What does this mean?" I asked him curiously, but he avoided the question "Ahmm-I should go now."

"Stay a little longer," I said,
he looked at me with those dark eyes. "As you wish, Cariad."he said like he was amused by my request .
After a small eye contact I Realised I was Still in his arms,and pulled myself back.

We sat on bed and I told him about my family, my life, and how I lost my two gems , and unknowingly avoided talking about Cole. I didn't want to spoil the conversation.I started talking about my pets.

I peeked at him, and he seemed so focused on my ramblings, which made me chuckle. Later, I saw him off at the gate.

Lying in bed, I wondered what he might have meant by his words. Frustrated, I fell asleep.

Aiden's POV:-

Everything until morning felt like a perfect day, but seeing Aurora on the floor made me want to end Cole with my hands.
But today I enveloped her in my arms, her head on my chest, her grabbing onto me. It made me want to make her mine, for the first time I felt like a Nyctophile.

Unknowingly, I uttered some words to her in Welsh. Thankfully, she didn't understand, as it meant:

'I can hold you tight forever in my arms if you give me permission,sweetheart.'

I know she can't be mine, but the thought of her being with Cole all day in the same house makes me feel hollow. I want her to be mine, to hear her call me honey or something that can't be explained now.

Suddenly, another thought struck me: why did her two best friends break all ties with her so suddenly? It's something I should see myself. Let's sleep so I can wake up tomorrow and see her.

Next morning...

A whisper in my ears, "Aiden... honey, wake up."

"Arghhhh," I woke up to see Jimmy laughing at my side. "You really are something," he said.

"This is not funny," I yelled.

"I know it's not,but Aiden... I'm the father of your child," he said seriously.

"What?" I was confused.

"Yeah, look at your little tummy. Don't worry, I'll take responsibility for my actions," he joked.

"Don't worry, Jim, it's not yours," I smirked.

"What? You whore," he started, then thrashed a pillow at me.

"Hahaha... yeah, it's Aurora's," I said.
