What is this feeling in me? I feel so light, almost like I'm empty. What's wrong with me? I opened my eyes, and everything was a blur. I couldn't recognize where I was and what I was doing. I can't even tell if I'm standing or sitting.
"Congratulations sir! You won the lottery ticket for 50,000 dollars! You are one lucky man! How does it feel to be so lucky?!"
Everything became clear and I looked around. The voice came from a man holding a microphone. He was wearing a suit, and sent me a wide smile, waiting for me to say something. I looked around, and I was holding a giant check for $50,000. In front of us was a camera recording us.
"I... I feel great." I said blankly, still slightly confused.
I don't feel great. I actually feel horrible. Why is that? What's wrong with me? What is this horrible feeling inside me?
"You don't sound excited as most people would! Hm, let me guess, you're still processing the fact that you won 50,000 dollars!" The man reiterated.
"Yeah... that's crazy," I peered down, feeling nothing.
Fifty thousand is a lot, I should be happy. I can finally spoil (Y/n) the way she deserves to be treated. This is great... so why do I feel so... void?
"Well, Kenny, you'll be happy to know the company in charge of this year's lottery has already wired the money to your account! It was great having you! What's the first thing you're gonna do with your money?!"
"I'm... I'm gonna buy my girlfriend everything she wants!"I said with a smile.
"Oh, ho! That's the excitement I was looking for! What a lucky lady!" He said.
"Her lucky? I'm the lucky one, she's the best girlfriend ever, I don't even know why she stays with me!" I joked.
The host laughed, before speaking, "Yeah, you sure are lucky! That luck would also explain how you won the lottery ticket! Because here at Colorado Lottery, we're as true as our rivers! Clean, and honest, picking the winners at random! So make sure to buy another ticket soon folks, maybe you'll end up like our lucky winner Kenny!"
"Yeah!" I smiled, pointing at the camera.
"And cut! We're off the live!" A film director said, standing up from his chair next to the cameraman. The host walked off, and the director came over to me with a wide smile on his face. He offered a hand, and I shook it,
"Great job out there kid! Have fun with all your money! And great stuff about the girlfriend, people will love that!" He said.
"Thanks..."
"Go on, go! You got hundreds to spend!" He said, slapping my back. I put down the poster check and left through the exit. I walked out of the studio and navigated my way out onto the street. As I was about to approach the bus, someone called out to me,
"Kenny!" I turned around and saw Kevin waving at me. I slowly made my way up to him and greeted him,
"Hey dude,"
"Why were you heading for the bus? Did you forget we came here together? I even borrowed Dad's truck,"
"Oh, shit. I did forget," I said nonchalantly, following him to the truck. Once at the truck, I got into the passenger seat, and he got into the driver's seat. He put the car in drive, and we started the drive back to South Park.
Why can't I barely remember anything? I don't even remember buying the lottery ticket, or even coming here for that matter. The drive was mostly silent until we reached the,
