Calista's P.O.V.

This week has been spent recovering in Brett's apartment. He managed to get half the week off which was plenty for me. The cops cleared out our apartment and I've been placed under protection after helping the police out with everything I knew about the crime family and their drug industry.  I've been watching the news everyday of the week to see about the man who saved me.

Apparently this man has been around for awhile, but only did little acts of justice. From stopping a drug store robbery to turning in wanted criminals hiding in the alleyways. Police reports said that his manner of taking down perps was interesting.

He quickly became known as the vigilante, not a very original name if you ask me. I'm grateful that all of the attention has been directed towards him so I don't have to deal with reporters or stuff like that. But, I've been investigating the 'biker', determined to give him a better thank you then I had managed to give.

Though, I am no tracker or investigator so this may take awhile. He acts out randomly, there is no pattern that I've seen yet, but I'm no where near giving up. Charlie has been visiting and Brett approves, he even stayed for dinner which was fun. Today is Friday and Charlie is going to take me to meet his mother. When he was finished with work he was going to pick me up, which was in an hour.

So here's the dilemma, I'm standing in my 'room' with wet hair and a towel, freaking out over what to wear. I am not a dress type of girl, so I grabbed my best pair of jeans, which were a light blue color. They were my best pair because they had zero rips, holes, and stains. Then, after about ten minutes of debating, I decide on a floral patterned tanktop. I finished my hair and make-up, as Brett knocked on my door and said that Charlie was here.

"Okay, I'll be out in a sec." I said while putting on finishing touches. I slipped on my flats, grabbed my phone, and went to the front door of the apartment. Brett laughed at me noticing the nervous spring in my step. I rolled my eyes at him, this is the first time I will be  meeting the parent of a boyfriend. So naturally, I was not going to be able to sit still. Charlie stood waiting in the living room and I skipped up to him and planted a solid kiss on his lips.

"Hello there." I said, smiling a 1000-watt smile after pulling away. "Hey.", he says returning a smile of his own.

"Yeah, yeah, as much as I love to see my little sister happy, it still does not make watching this loving dovey stuff appealing. Get a move on you two." Brett interupts, killing the moment. I roll my eyes dramatically and grab Charlie's hand, intertwining our fingers.

"C'mon let's go." I say as we head for the front door.

In his car I couldn't stop bouncing my knee, or fidgeting in some way.

"Would you just relax Cal? Everything is going to be fine." He chuckles but his eyes remain on the road.

"You know, I hear that sentence way too much for it to be comforting anymore." I say trying to relax my nerves.

"I know, but you worry way too much, relax a little." He says simply while grabbing my hand.

"Do you think she'll like me? Has she seen the news?" I say anxiously, my knee starting up again. He just laughs and tightens his grip.

"She'll love you, and she isn't one to pry." He says shooting me a sideways glance.

"I sure hope so.", I grumbled as I look out the window.

He just laughs.

The smell of rubbing alcohol hits my nose as we enter the hospital and memories threaten to ruin my day. But lucky for me we didn't enter through the emergency room side. My hand is in Charlie's, which seems to be it's home now. I was suddenly very self-concious of my injuries, I silently prayed over and over again that nobody saw them and if they did, they wouldn't think that Charlie had caused them. He went up to the desk to ask about his mother and I stood back waiting, trying my best not to fidget. I smiled at some of the nurses that I recognized.

"Ready?" Charlie said as he walked back to me. Butterflies bubbled up on cue with his voice, and my nerves returned with a vengeance. I sighed and took his hand.

"As I'll ever be." I said putting on my big girl panties and getting ready to face the day. He chuckles at my antics and gives me a light kiss on my lips, teasing me.

"C'mon." He says as he leads me down the hallway to his mother's room.

As we walked up, I saw an older woman sitting up in bed surfing channels through the doorway. Her brown hair was tied in a bun and brown eyes watching the screen. She glanced out and did a double take realizing her son was walking up. I followed closely behind Charlie, unconciously hiding behind my boyfriend. The woman smiled brightly at Charlie and I.

"Hey darling." She beams, her arms outstretched for a hug.

"Hey mom." He says, hugging her tight. I smile and kind of just hang in the back as Charlie asks how she's doing and she replies.

"And who's this pretty young lady?" She asks, both of them turning towards me. She smiled kindly and my voice was caught on my nervousness.

Charlie hooked an arm around me and pulled me foward. "This is my angel face, Calista." He says pecking my cheek and making my heart swoon. I snap out of my daze and stick a hand out for her to shake.

"Hi, I'm Calista Felix, nice to meet you. Please call me Cal or Callie." I say, genuinely smiling as she took my hand.

"Sarah Richardson." She says happily, shooting a glance at Charlie. An approving glance I hope.

"How long have you two been together?" She asks as she raises and eyebrow at Charlie.

"Not too long, just since last Friday." Charlie says shrugging his shoulders.

"Why am I just hearing about this now? You should called me right after it happened! Why didn't I meet her sooner?" She yelled, but a teasing tone seeped into her voice.

"Well you're meeting her now right?" He says sheepishly. His mother narrows her eyes and socks his arm, suprising me.

"Don't get smart with me Charles." She warns, I giggle watching my boyfriend get scolded by his mother.

"Alright, alright." He sighs rubbing his arm, but a grin is still prominent on his face.

"Have you met his father yet Callie?" She says turning her attention to me.

"No, not yet Mrs.Richardson. Looking foward to it though." I say happily.

"Oh please just call me Sarah, I have a feeling we are going to be around each other for awhile." She says happily, making me feel wanted.

The visit went wonderful, better than I could have hoped for. Sarah was wonderful and her motherly aura was refreshing. We were in the car, Charlie taking me home. But there was somewhere else I wanted to go.

"Hey Charlie, do you mind if we stop somewhere else?"

"Not at all. Where would you like to go?"

"The Mayview Cemetary."
