KANO STATE, NIGERIA.
"Who the hell does she think she is?!" Laila said with a scowl on her face.
"The audacity!" Laila couldn't stop insulting Amina even though both Maryam and Azra said nothing, it was clear that she is jealous and vexed and the only way she could let it all out is by insulting Amina.
"She should thank her lucky stars Azran said he loves her but look at what she did? How can she say she doesn't know the crown prince, Azran Shugaba?"
"Well, maybe she doesn't?" Maryam said as she shrugged her shoulders, the statement came out more as a rhetorical question.
"I'm sure she's the Amina Azran was talking about, maybe something happened." Azra said.
"What happened was that she realized she isn't his class so she decided to back off. I mean she doesn't have any designer stuff with her, didn't you guys see?" Laila huffed.
"Laila can you please stop with the yelling? You are making me have a headache." Azra chided, Laila croseed her arm as she hissed softly."Maybe she will call Azran." Maryam said.
"But she didn't even pick the paper." Azra said as she rubbed her manicured fingers on her temple.
"Maybe you got the wrong Amina." Maryam said.
"Well that's alot of maybe's." Azra said and both she and Maryam chuckled.Azra's iPhone 15 glowed before it began to ring, her lips curled up into a beautiful smile as her eyes fell on the caller ID.
"Assalamu alaikum my love."
"Wa'alakum Assalam my baby, I suppose you are supposed to be somewhere right now?" Maha said in a sarcastic voice and Azra's eyes widened before she face palmed herself.
"I'm so sorry my beautiful mother." Azra said with a toothy grin even though she knew Maha couldn't see her.
"Don't you dare try to sweet talk me, where on earth are you right now?" If possible, the smile on Azra's lips widened, even though she knew Maha wanted to scold her, her voice was still soft and she knew she was trying to fight off a smile from appearing on her face. Whenever she did something to annoy Maha, she would call her beautiful because that would do the trick and Maha would be all smiles. The trick didn't always work because sometimes her offence are heinous."Finding a bride for your boring son." Azra heard the way her mother gasped dramatically over the phone and she could bet all the money in her bank that she had placed her hand on either her chest or mouth with wide eyes.
"My baby isn't boring." Maha argued, Azra scoffed before she spoke.
"Tell me a more believable lie."
"You can make a fire under water." Maha said jokingly, referring to the popular kids show, 'SpongeBob Square pant'. The cartoon is about a yellow sponge who lives under water and yet he can make a fire under water and do many more impossible things, both Azra and Maha laughed loudly at that.
"Don't worry I will tell you the full gist when I meet you."
"Okay, meet me at f&j bridal wears." Maha said, Azra's face turned beet red as she blushed uncontrollably before she nodded her head as though Maha could see her and then she hanged up the call. Two of her wedding dresses had been ordered by the best wedding dress maker in the United Kingdom and the remaining four which would be done in northern Nigerian style had been ordered from the best dress makers, f&j bridals wears. Not everyone could afford their bridal dresses, the cheapest bridal dress they make is usually 4 million. Azra's dresses were all ranging from 7 million and above, Ayman insisted that she had to get the best of everything since she is his princess and only daughter, he had always chosen the best of the best for his children, after all."Your mom is the sweetest." Laila said with a dreamy look after Azra had hanged up. Laila had everything she could ever ask for, her father got her what ever she wanted even before she said it but one thing he couldn't give her is a mother. Her mother had died when she was giving birth to her, Laila is his only child and hence the reason he spoilt her beyond words. He had married two women so they could fill that space in Laila's life but Laila being the brat she is had made him divorce them through one tantrum or another. Maybe she wouldn't have been arrogant and pompous if she had a mother, a mother is everything she had ever wished for but try as he may, her father couldn't give it to her with all the money he had. Laila looked up to Maha as a mother figure, she really liked her alot and among the mother's of the five of them, Maha is the only one who is unaware of Laila's arrogant nature and she tries all she can to hide it in her presence. Azra also never spoke to her mother about her behaviour since Laila didn't want her to talk about it.
