ABUJA, NIGERA

For the past three days, Amir found himself in a whirlwind of emotions he couldn't quite comprehend. His once calm and collected demeanor now disrupted by the mere presence of Azra. Every time his gaze met hers, a fluttering sensation took over his chest, causing his heart to skip a beat like a melody out of tune, yet strangely harmonious.

Azra's pale green eyes held a depth that Amir couldn't ignore. They seemed to hold secrets of a world unknown, drawing him in like a moth to a flame. As he observed her, the way she diligently practiced cooking, not for herself but for him, a warmth spread through his chest, melting the walls he had built around his heart.

Despite these undeniable feelings growing within him, Amir hesitated to acknowledge them. The realization that he might be falling for Azra, the woman he once thought he could never love, both terrified and exhilarated him. Each passing moment in her presence brought a mix of emotions he struggled to comprehend.

As days turned into nights, the bond between them deepened, fueled by unspoken words and stolen glances. Amir's inner turmoil mirrored the stormy skies outside, conflicted between the familiarity of his past and the uncertainty of this newfound connection with Azra. Could he allow himself to embrace this unexpected love blooming within his heart, or would he let fear hold him back from a chance at true happiness?

In the quiet moments of contemplation, amid the aroma of freshly baked pastries and the soft glow of candlelight, Amir grappled with his feelings, torn between the comfort of the known and the allure of the unknown. Little did he know that within Azra's eyes, he would find not only reflection but also the key to unlocking the depths of his own heart.

As the days passed, Amir's resistance waned, giving way to a realization that perhaps love, in all its complexities, was worth exploring. And in Azra, he found not just a partner but a soulmate, whose presence illuminated his world in ways he never thought possible.

Someone cleared his throat behind Amir and he got startled and almost dropped the phone from his hand.
"I see what you are doing son."
"W-what am I doing?" Amir said as he nervously scratched the back of his head.
"You're falling inlove. With Azra."
"But I already love her." The lie came out smoothly as he had been telling people that ever since their wedding was arranged a month ago. Abdullahi looked at his son before he chuckled and patted his shoulder.
"I'm not a fool Amir, you didn't love her before but you're starting to. Don't let Malik's words get to you." Amir was dumbstruck for a moment as he wondered who had told their father about Malik's feelings towards Azra.
"Who told you?" Amir asked and even though the question wasn't complete, Abdullahi understood what he was talking about.
"Two weeks before the wedding when you went on that business trip to Uganda, that was when we found out. He threw a tantrum accusing me of your mother for loving you the most and snatching everything he has ever wanted and giving it to you."

"But it is true." Amir said as he folded his arms in front of his torso.
"Half of it is true and half isn't." Abdullahi said, making Amir to furrow his eyebrows in confusion. Abdullahi then pointed his head towards the balcony, meaning he and Amir should go there. They did, and they sat down for a moment in quietude until Abdullahi broke the silence.
"As a parent no matter what, even if you don't want to believe it you will always have a favourite. And that favourite is the one who is the most well behaved and everyone knows you Amir since childhood had always been calm and collected. If your mother or I tell you to stop, you stop and you never do it again but Malik..." Abdullahi stopped and both he and Amir chuckled because they knew how sturbborn and hot headed he his.
"So I won't lie Amir, yes sometimes your mother and I tend to show you more attention that we did with Malik even if it wasn't intentional and when he pointed it out your mother and I apologized because we were in the wrong. About your marriage to Azra, I don't even know what to say, Malik is being childish, unreasonable and selfish and I told him that but he doesn't want to believe me. If Azra loves you and wants to marry you, then who am I to stop the wedding and force her into a marriage with Malik?" Abdullahi said.
"Baba both Malik and I are very lucky to have you as a father indeed, I will talk to Malik and see if I can resolve the issue between us."
"Good bless you."
"Ameen." Amir said as he stood up to leave.
"Think about what I said, the love you have for Azra is as clear as daylight in your eyes." Amir fought the urge not to groan and he stood up and literally rushed out of the balcony, making his father laugh heartily.
