A man shoved Hayoung against the wall and covered her mouth to muffle the scream. She tried to break free but failed since the man was too strong for her. Another man stood beside him and raised his eyebrow.
"Is it her?"
"Scar across the face. Bring her to Milady."
Suddenly, the man punched Hayoung in the gut. The woman let out a gasp and she immediately fainted. The man carried her on his shoulder as they walked away. A few moments later, a carriage arrived at a mansion. The men carried Hayoung to the barn and threw her on the pile of hay.
Lady Joohyun entered the barn and looked at the woman with a cold expression. She got a glass of water in her hand and she splashed onto Hayoung. The woman jolted up as she threw a coughing fit. Light invaded her vision making her squint her eyes. Three people were standing in front of her.
"D-did I do something wrong, Milady?" Hayoung bowed in front of the noblewoman.
"Yes, you did something unforgivable. But I'm not the one who will punish you." Lady Joohyun said.
"What did I do, Milady?"
The noblewoman smirked as she turned around. Suddenly, they heard the sound of a horse galloping approaching the barn and it stopped. Footsteps could get closer and Hayoung felt a chill run down her spine.
"Prepare to face the wrath of Hades." Lady Joohyun said as she stepped aside.
Came in the Duke as he walked straight to the woman on the ground. He had an unreadable expression on his face.
"Everyone get out." he ordered.
All the other servants walked out except for the noblewoman. She just leaned against the pole and folded her arms. The Prince then looked at her.
"Pretend like I never existed." she said.
"Suit yourself."
The Duke turned to Hayoung as he pulled out his sword. He pressed the tip at her chest and blood started to drip down.
"I show you mercy and this is how you repay me?"
He slashed the blade across her chest and blood started to gush out of the open cut. The woman screamed in pain as she tried to run away. In the blink of an eye, the Duke moved to the side as he pushed Hayoung's face with his feet so that the woman lay on her back.
"After what happened to Chan... even death sounds too good for you."
The Duke stabbed her leg with the sword and another screeching scream echoed throughout the barn.
"Please, My Lord. It hurts. Please. I beg for your forgiveness." Hayoung cried.
"You deserve none of it."
The Duke pulled out the sword and he stabbed the other leg. And another scream blasted throughout the barn. Even people outside stopped as they looked at the barn.
"You destroyed the innocence of a child because of your jealousy. I should have killed you sooner." the Prince gritted his teeth.
He took a step back before launching forward as the blade seamlessly ran through Hayoung's neck, beheading her. The head rolled toward Lady Joohyun. She felt sick in her stomach after witnessing such horror but she couldn't take her eyes off it.
"Order your men to cut this body into pieces and feed it to the wolves." The Duke said and exited the barn.
Lady Joohyun looked away as she took a deep breath. That was a lot to take in. She immediately left the barn and called her servants. The men entered and gasped at the horrifying scene. Hesitantly, they started to clean up the barn and filled the sack with the body parts. One of the servants couldn't hold it anymore and he threw up beside the door. The Duke was a monster and their Milady would be his bride. The thought alone made them worried about their Milady.
