Your mind starts to wonder as you sit down in the chair, thinking about the new floor board you pulled up this morning.
Would you remember it after today?
Maybe, that's why you boxed up everything König has ever given you instead of throwing it away. Maybe, one day you would recognize the slight creek in the floor and your curiosity would get the better of you. You'd pull it up and search through the vinyls, jewelry, tshirts, and even the sweatpants he would give you when you would spend hours on the roof, in the cold, looking up at the stars.
You'd wonder if there was someone else who once occupied this room before you. Someone else who had the same funny little habit as you.
You'd wondered what they were like and what memories these objects held for them.
Because at the end of the day...they were someone else. A different version of you that was broken, miserable, and desperately trying to stay afloat. But your arms were tried of pulling you to the surface, the weight of all the loss, pain, and loneliness pulling you under inch by inch.
The decision you had made that night haunted you and this was the only way to rectify it without drastic measures.
Sad eyes meet yours, as one of the only people you trusted outside your small circle straps your wrists down.
A sweet nurse Ghost has been crushing on.
He thought he was hiding it well but you noticed it when he looked at her.
It was like his world revolved around the emotions that presented themselves on her face. He held his breath, fussed with his hands, and came up with random things to talk about, just to hold her attention. Just to be apart of her life in any way possible.
Her warm hand grabs yours gently, "I won't tell you what you're doing is wrong or ridiculous, I'm sure they'd said enough." Her head nods towards the back of the room, your eyes falling on the two angry men, now standing tensely with their arms crossed.
Ghost had stumbled on you as you were walking to the lab. He knew by your demeanor that something was wrong. Your eyes had turned colder than before.
Distant.
He had seen that look once before and it sent chills through his body just like it had the night him and Price had found you and your parents.
"Absolutely fucking not. We haven't had time to properly test it. There could be major side effects. I know you and König are going through a bit of a rough patch-"
Quickly, you turn to face him, causing him to haphazardly halt his steps before he bulldozed you over in his haste to catch up to you.
"König is leaving. He decided how he wanted to cope with the situation, it's my turn."
His voice lowers, "I'm sorry, I didn't know he was leaving."
Shrugging your shoulders, you turn around and resume your walk, "Doesn't matter."
His tall frame reaches you in two big strides, his arms coming out to turn you back to him.
"Of course it matters, Y/n. Do you want to talk about it or we can-"
Shoving his hand off of you, the feelings you've been struggling with find a way to translate themselves into words and sentences. "I don't want to talk about it. I don't want to think about it. I don't want to do anything but forget about it. Forget about him. I'm tired. Tired of the lies from my parents, Price, and König. I'm tired of losing people I care about. I'm tired of being sad all the time. I'm so fucking tired of feeling like this is all my fault."
