I was walking towards the Training Arena with Percy. Jason was already there waiting for us to show up. Suddenly, I saw Nico and Reyna coming towards us at a speed somewhere between a run and a speedwalk.
Percy and I shared a confused glance at each other, then turned to them as they skidded to a stop in front of us.
"Uhm, hey, guys... Something wrong?" Percy asked awkwardly.
"No... just... need... Anna..." Nico was out of breath, he looked like he'd been shadow-traveling around quite a bit before he'd run over.
"Anna? The new girl in Hermes Cabin?" Percy asked.
"No, not Anna," Reyna said. She hadn't been as winded as Nico. "Annabeth. We need to borrow her for a second."
"Oh..." Percy said, "Well, Annabeth, you okay with being 'borrowed' for a bit?"
"I mean... You guys are kinda talking about me like I'm a cup of sugar or something, but, sure, why not?"
Percy kept going toward the Arena, I went with Nico and Reyna toward the woods. We went into the woods and walked for a minute or two before I said something. "So... What exactly do you guys need me for?"
"Uhm..." That was all Nico said.
Reyna answered. "We saw something in the forest, we think you should check it out."
"'Something,' huh?"
"Yeah." The two of them said in unison.
We walked a little while longer, eventually getting to a tree that looked kinda familiar, wasn't sure why, though.
"Welp, gonna go!" Reyna said suddenly, she and Nico bolted off towards camp.
"Where the Hades are you-? And they're gone..."
I looked at the tree. It was pretty big. Low branches that were big enough to hold two people easily. Suddenly someone walked into the clearing... It was Piper...
