I Ruined My Bestfriend's Relationship (A Pipabeth Story)

Annabeth POV 5

Percy got to camp a few days ago. So far, Piper and I hadn't tried to hang out in any way beyond friendship since they'd shown up. Mostly because Percy and Jason were a bit clingier than normal, almost like they felt guilty about something. I had asked Percy about it, the conversation had gone something like this.

Me: Why are you acting so guilty?

Percy: What?

Me: You're acting guilty. Like really guilty. Did you do something stupid, or..?

Percy: Nope. No. No idea what you're talking about.

Then he stumbled out something about having to help some kids with sword training and speed walked off.

As I was remembering the conversation and walking around camp, I was suddenly grabbed by the shoulder and turned around, I was about to get ready to punch someone, then I saw it was just Piper. What was it with this girl and just appearing behind me?!

"Hey, Annie," Piper said, smiling. Gods, she's beautiful.

"Hey, Pipes."

"What're you thinking about?"

"Well," I thought about how to answer, "Piper, has Jason been acting... Weird?"

"Jason's always kinda weird." She said as we began walking together.

"Well, yeah, but weirder than normal? Like... He and Percy have been weirdly clingy like they're guilty of something... Or... What if they found out? What if they are trying to make us love them more than each other? Or what if they have some sort of plot for rev-" I was cut off by Piper kissing me on the lips. She'd kissed me before, but it always sent a sort of giddy excitement through me.

"Why'd you do that?" I asked once she pulled away

"Two reasons." She said, as she laced her fingers through mine and started walking again. "First, you were spiral questioning again. When you do that you just end up off-topic and worrying about, like, fifteen different things than you hadn't even thought of before."

"And the second reason?"

"The second reason is that I haven't kissed you in days. Couldn't help it. Sorta felt like I needed it."

I felt myself start to blush furiously. I laughed a little. "Piper Mclean, you just love to make me blush."

We were at the edge of the strawberry fields now.

"Maybe I do." We stopped walking again. She kept one hand in mine. But, with her free hand, she cupped my face, her kaleidoscope eyes were a beautiful mix of colors. I felt my blush deepen. I felt butterflies in my stomach, she kissed me again. I think I forgot how to speak English for a second, so I slipped into Greek.

"Σ 'αγαπώ τόσο πολύ (I love you so much)."

"I love you, too."

We stood there, our foreheads touching, her hand still on my face. Suddenly, someone cleared his throat behind me. I whipped around, and then I froze.
