When I woke up the next morning Piper was gone. My siblings were still asleep, so I guessed it hadn't gotten to breakfast yet. I got up, brushed my hair, put it back in a messy bun, and changed out of my pjs and into a pair of jeans, a CHB tee shirt, white socks, and a pair of pale blue sneakers.

I decided to just sit on my bed and read one of the many books on architecture I had while I was waiting for my siblings to wake up. When everyone got up I had them all get ready. Then we cleaned up the cabin and made our beds. By the time all of that was done, it was time for me to get them all lined up and led to the Dining Pavilion for breakfast. While we were walking we saw Piper leading the Aphrodite Cabin kids to the Pavilion. Piper saw me, so I waved to her. She smiled and waved back.

Seeing her smile made me happy. Not just the "Yay my friend's in a good mood" type of happiness, though. It felt like more than that... Which was bad! Right? I mean, I'm in a relationship with Percy! I shouldn't be thinking like that! But... The way Piper's eyes would kaleidoscope and shimmer when she smiled. When she had a real smile... It made me feel butterflies in my stomach.

When we got to the Dining Pavilion Piper and I got everyone from our cabins into their spots, then we said good morning to each other and went to our own seats. I spent most of the time eating and listening to my siblings talk and laugh with each other. Malcolm kept giving me awkward side glances, so I decided to say something.

"Everything going alright, Malcolm? Was an Ares kid messing with you again?"

Malcolm looked up from his waffles with a slight start, "Uhm... No... Well, yes, everything is fine, and no, the Ares kids aren't bothering me anymore."

"Then what's wrong?"

"Well... Piper was in the Cabin last night."

"Yeah... And? It happens pretty often..." I tried to sound casual, but I could feel those butterflies in my stomach again.

"No... Annabeth, not just until you fell asleep like normal... I mean, she stayed with you... The whole night."

"Oh..." It was my turn to look at my plate. "You know what? I'm gonna go make sure the arena is ready for our Cabin's training today..."

"Annabeth, are you sure you're not just avoid-"

"Can't hear ya, Malcolm, too busy going to check the arena." I rushed off, noticing a plate of pizza. Who has pizza for breakfast?!
