I Ruined My Bestfriend's Relationship (A Pipabeth Story)

Piper POV 7

I walked up to Annabeth, she looked confused.

"Hey."

"Hello... Did you put Reyna and Nico up to this?"

"Maybe. I just... I need to talk to you."

"Fine, what do you need?" She folded her arms across her chest, looking at me expectantly with beautiful storm-grey eyes. Her golden blonde hair was down at the moment, it cascaded down her shoulders like a waterfall. She was wearing her usual Camp Half-Blood tee shirt, a pair of blue jeans, and a pair of pale blue Converse that Percy had gotten her a while ago. I had to tell myself to breathe.

"Annabeth," I stood right before her, just a few inches away, "Annabeth Chase, I love you."

Her arms fell to her side, she took a small step back, a mix of confusion and concern on her face. Stupid charmspeak making her forget. "Piper, what-? Piper, you're in a relationship with Jason! And- And I'm in a relationship with Percy, Piper-!"

"Annabeth, listen to me!" I said urgently, cutting her off and grabbing her shoulders, I hated that she looked so concerned, that I did that to her, so, I had to talk fast and make this right. "Annabeth, listen, I love you. And you love me, too. We'd been together for a while, but Percy and Jason had caught us. I made you forget to protect you from having to go through some big fight with Percy or anything like-"

"Piper, stop." She shrugged my hands off her shoulders. "I don't know what you're talking about, but we weren't together. I am with Percy. What is happening with you? You disappeared yesterday, Percy and Jason seem pissed any time you're brought up, and now you're talking crazy! Piper, do you need help or somethi-"

I stepped forward, wrapping my arms around her waist, she looked at me questioningly, but she didn't have time to ask any questions, because I kissed her. Was it bad timing? Maybe. But I doubted I'd be able to talk to cut her off again and it seemed like an okay solution at the time. I half expected her to pull away, but she didn't. She kissed me back. I felt a giddy excitement at that. It felt like time was slowing down.

When we pulled away from each other, Annabeth no longer looked confused, she looked mad.

"I'm sorry-"

"You should be!" She yelled, punching me on the arm.

"Ow! Look, I'm sorry that I kissed you, it's just-"

"That's not why I'm mad, you idiot! If you ever charmspeak me out of loving you again, I swear to the gods I will destroy you."

I couldn't help but laugh, "I love you, too, cheri."

Annabeth smiled. Gods dam it, that smile is so beautiful.

Reyna and Nico ran up at that moment.

"Percy and Jason are coming!" Reyna said anxiously.

"They're looking for Annabeth," Nico explained.

"Well, shit." I know that response was a very fancy and well-formed sentence.

"So?" Annabeth said next to me. "Let them come. I have some words for Percy."

As soon as she finished saying that, Percy and Jason had shown up. They saw Piper and I and their faces hardened.

"Piper!" Percy yelled, "Annabeth, get away from her."

Jason just looked angry as he followed Percy.

"Freeze," Annabeth said, her tone made them stop dead in their tracks.

At this point, I think Reyna and Nico were just there to see what happened next because the second she said that, the two of them backed up two steps and started looking between us.

Annabeth marched over right in front of Percy, "You, sir, have no right to give orders to or yell at either of us."

"Wise Girl, I-"

"Do not 'Wise Girl' me, Perseus Jackson."

"Oh shit, she pulled out his full name," Reyna whispered.

"Do you think I'm stupid? I've seen it when you and Jason sneak around near dinner and after breakfast! And you are not hiding it with the suggestive conversations either! Just because I didn't grow up in the mortal world, doesn't mean I don't know the signs of cheating! There are children of Aphrodite here!" She paused and turned around. "By the way, Pipes, I was referring to your sister, Drew, not you."

"Yeah, I know Annie, love ya."

Percy found his voice surprisingly fast. "Annabeth, Piper is charmspeaking you."

Annabeth looked ready to punch him. But, she's pretty when she's mad. "The only charmspeak Piper used on me was the last time the two of you caught us together."

Percy when silent like he was trying to understand what she'd just said, Jason spoke up. "Annabeth, Piper told us that-"

"She lied, I know what she said, I was there, she's been punched for it."

Jason kept talking, "Yeah, okay, but I was mostly just upset because I thought Piper was manipulating you. In all honesty? I was kinda mad that Percy was, too. And if you guys make each other happy, I'm happy for both of you. We're all mature, I think we should all be able to accept this and then move on."

I was pretty sure I'd heard a small "aww" from Nico and Reyna.

Percy found his voice again. "BRO!"

Jason turned on him, "Shut up! You've been manipulating Annabeth the whole time we've been at Camp! She was at least trying to hide her relationship. You would outright make comments in front of her to me!"

"Thank you, Jason," Annabeth said, her tone was still harsh, but the thanks seemed genuine. "Percy, I love Piper, I loved you, too, but with the way you've been acting, you're an asshole."

"Excuse me-!" Percy started, but Reyna cut him off.

"It's best you go, now."

Percy looked between the five of us, then stormed off.

"Thank you, Nico and Reyna," I said sincerely.

"Yeah, sure," Nico said.

"Happy to help."

Annabeth was next to me again. "Thank you, Piper Mclean."

"For what?"

She kissed me, "For being your beautiful self, and ruining my relationship."
