Thank You For Calling My Name

Hello, my name is Tau.

My life is depressing and boring. There is no fun; I am hopeless and lethargic. That is why I wish that I have died already. But one day, my life changed when someone called out my name.

I was strolling down the hallway of our school when someone called my name. I was taken aback, and my world now seems to sparkle. I don't know what to do; I simply turn around to see who is calling me.

I looked around and spotted Sarah. She is my classmate, and she is the best student in the class.

My heart is racing so fast that I can barely breathe. She is the first person to call me in my entire life.

"Tau! Tau! Wait! You forgot your exam paper" Sarah shouts.

I said, "Oh, th-th-thank you */grabs na paper."

I'm so nervous that I just take my exam paper and walk away. I was smiling , and I couldn't have imagined how my entire life would change on that day. I realized it was love at first sight because she had been on my thoughts all night when I arrived home.

A new day has begun. Every time I see her, my heart races and I think it will burst. So I promised myself that I would study hard to reach her. I studied every day. I finished studying for four months. I always obtaining perfect grades on quizzes and examinations. My classmates were shocked on the day of our card viewing because I was ranked first in class and Sarah was ranked second.

"Oh my gosh, who is Tau?" Alpha asked.

"I don't know either; I don't know we had a classmate named Tau," Omega replied.

Meanwhile, Sarah's expression conveys her dissatisfaction. She exited the room, and I followed her.

"Sarah, wait! wait! where are you going?" I said.

"HUH? WHY ARE YOU FOLLOWING ME? WE ARE NOT FRIENDS, DUHH," she replied.

"BUT WE TALK TO EACH LAST TIME AND YOU CALLED ME," I RESPONDED.

"THAT DOES NOT MEAN WE ARE FRIENDS, OKAY? */ SARAH WALKS AWAY" Sarah replied.

I was shocked and saddened at the time because shes a bit cold. I did not study again and after two months, its school examination day. I did not take the exam seriously.

Sarah saw my score. Then she approached me and shouted, "WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU?! ARE YOU JUST A FAKE?! YOU ARE THE TOP 1 AND YOUR SCORE IS ZERO? DID YOU JUST CHEAT LAST TIME! */ANGRY VOICE"

I responded, "WHY? WHY DO YOU CARE? YOU SAID TO ME THAT WE ARE NOT EVEN FRIENDS! WHY?! I'M THE TOP 1, SO WHAT! I DON'T CARE ABOUT IT ANYMORE."

Sarah hits me, and I can see tears in her eyes.

"OUCH! WHY DI-DID? EEEHHHH? WAIT WAIT. WHY ARE YOU CRYINGGGGG, SARAH?" I SAID.

Sarah turned around and replied, "It's none of your business."

I responded, "IF IS NOT MY BUSINESS THEN WHY ARE YOU CRYING?"

"Yes I'm crying because you are smart and talented but you are just wasting it. You always look tired and hopeless. I got mad last time because you hide your talent!." Her reply.

"Wait-wait-wait, me? smart and talented?"I burst out laughing. "Sarah, I will not be able to be ranked one in our class. If you are not here," I responded.

Sarah asked, "Eh?" Wha-what? Why me I don't understand."

I realized that I just confessed to her. My face got so hot and red. I have no choice but to confess that time.

I said. "Sarah sarah. */Hold her hands "I want to say something."

Sarah responded, "What and why you are hold my hands? Don't tell me you will confess. *Laughs*"

I said, "Yeah! I-i-i like you, Sarah."

"Wha-wha-what? Really Tau? but ho-how? When?" She replied.

"It was love at first sight. When you called me that time, I was so happy because you are the first person to call me. You see, my life is boring, I don't have friends, and I'm hopeless. I know it's normal for someone to call someone, but for me, it's a life-changing experience. That's why I fall in love and when I realized it I studied every day to become the top 1. So I can say what I'm feeling for you" my reply.

Sarah cries and she said, "Tau, I also like you. I don't know why or how. It just when you walk away that day, I realized also that I like you too" Her replied.

I hugged Sarah, and my life becomes hopeful, entertaining, and happy. I'm not lazy anymore, and I'm not thinking about or wishing that I was dead. It was very happy. We go on dates, attend mass, and study together.

But one day when Sarah and I were about to take a college exam. I went to the hospital after losing consciousness. I don't know the reason why.

The doctor addressed my parents and stated, "I'm sorry, but your son will not be able to live any longer; he will die in 6 months." My parents reacted by saying, "*/ crying, Doctor? Why?! Why?! My son is so happy right now. Why are you telling me that he will die!!*/ continues crying."

My parents told me about it. I was crying while saying, "Lord, why right now?... Why now? Now that I'm happy! Why?! Is this my punishment for being happy? Should? shoud! shoud I stay a lazy! hopeless! and unentertaining man?!"

I cried all night and worried about sarah because I know she will be sad if she knows about it.

Sarah was taking her exam and passed. She arrived to the hospital. I told her that I will be fine but I didn't know she already found out what will may happen to me. She was holding back her tears and tried to smile as she talked about how she passed the exam.

In six months, she was alongside me, caring for me. My body is immobile; I am so skinny and have no hair. I can't speak properly anymore and the day of our first anniversary.

Sarah came closer to me and said, "Tau, my love. happy first anniversary! I love you so much. Thank you for making me happy. You are my first crush, my first love, my first kiss, and the first person to steal my place in the top 1 *my family and her family laughs*. I love you so much." .

I touch Sarah's face and I said, "I------I-I love you too, Hap----py Anni---versa-ry" * My Hands fall down. Then Sarah yelled while crying, "Tau! Tau! Come back please Tau! */cries a lot! I'm calling you!" */punching my body "Tau!"

Monitor for my heartbeat.
