Chapter 4

Marion finally got her casts taken off. She still wasn't talking to Tim even after another 8 weeks.
Amy's legs were healed, as was her Jaw and her neck finally.
She was now on physiotherapy but still having to use a wheelchair for long distances, but improving every week. Amy had speech problems as the nerves running through the mandible were damaged due to her jaw being broken on either side.
Marion couldn't wait for the next two days to be over as Amy was coming home on Friday. Marion went outside but couldn't see Tim. She didn't want to speak to him, but she needed to see if he'd finished the ramp.
Marion couldn't see him, so she went to the Barn . She stood at the entrance and couldn't believe what she saw. The barn was a mess, the stables had not been cleaned but he had fed and watered them. There was no sign of a ramp anywhere. Marion pulled out her phone and called Tim.
"Hello.."
"Tim, it's Marion. Where is the ramp you said you were building for Amy so she can get up onto the porch."
"Oh, that, just outside the barn."
"No, it's not Tim."
"Dam it, someone's stolen it already."
"You're pathetic Tim, a drunk and a gambler, oh let's add liar to that shall we."
Marion didn't have time to clean out the stables, so she just got a wide plastic snow shovel and went the full length of the barn like a snow plough until it was clear, she left it outside in a pile for tomorrow.

When Tim came back, he was drunk again as usual, Marion had made arrangements for a friends husband to come and build a ramp for the morning after she'd explained why she needed help.
Tim walked in after he'd driven home, so Marion had a go at him for putting his life and other innocent people's lives at risk for driving after drinking and not building the ramp like he said he would.
Tim's answer to that left Marion laying on the floor.
"You hit me just once more, and your out and divorce proceedings will follow Tim. Just remember you won't get anything. This ranch is in my name because of your drinking and gambling. "
Tim walked straight back out again and drove off. Marion immediately went to her online banking account and moved all the money into a separate account in her name only. She set it up a long time ago just for this reason.
It was just as well marion had moved everything as Tim went straight to a cash point to withdraw $1000 without success. He was fuming. The thing was he had his own money but liked spending Marion's.
By the time Tim got back, he was so drunk he'd walked into the barn and carried on to the back doors, thinking he was in the house he opened one side and tripped up over the Hay and horse shit, landing face first.
Marion was up early and went to get the duties in the barn done. She walked to the back doors, sure she'd locked up, and found Tim passed out face first. She couldn't help but laugh and took some photos, then posted them to her Facebook page.
By 8am, she'd finished and back in the kitchen having a coffee and breakfast,
She was excited that Amy would be back later. She just hoped that Tim didn't tease her about her speech, Amy was improving by the week. Unfortunately, it was a lengthy recovery, but Marion knew her Amy could do it.

It was just past lunchtime when she saw her friend and her husband come up the driveway. They were a lovely couple, and after they'd popped over quickly last evening to measure up, they were here with the ramp. Marion helped them get the ramp out, and they carried it over to the steps. It fitted perfectly, and he also screwed it into place.
Marion thanked them both and asked how much she owed them. Her friends wouldn't hear of it.
While they were talking, the ambulance taxi arrived from the hospital with Amy. They lowered the ramp and helped Amy out in her electric wheelchair. She would only need it if she had to walk more than twenty steps at the moment. Eventually, she should not need it at all.
"Hi love, I bet you're so glad to be home."
"Hi mum, yes, it feels so weird being outside again."
Amy said hi to her mum's friends, and they spoke for some time. Eventually, Amy tried out the ramp, and it was just at the correct angle. Marion said goodbye to her friends and watched as they drove off. She turned to walk into the Ranch House as Tim came out of the Barn covered in horse shit and straw. She put her head down as she looked at the state of him and started laughing to herself and carried on inside.

Amy noticed that her mum had rearranged her bedroom to make life easier for her until she completely recovered.
Tim entered the house and heard Marion talking to someone, then heard Amy's voice.
"Oh, so you're back, oh in a wheelchair as well."
"Nice to see you too, dad. Thanks for all the visits."
"Well, I didn't see much point as you were unconscious all the time."
"What you really mean, dad, is that after attacking me, you were banned from the hospital. Why lie about it."
"Don't start on me, girl, or I'll put you back in that hospital."
"Get out, Tim, we're finished, I'll see my lawyer tomorrow, pack your stuff up, then leave."
Tim thought to himself that he didn't need this, Marion had cut him off from her money anyway. He packed, got in his Truck and left still covered in horse manure.

6 months later and Marion was back earning money as of 5 months ago, she'd also taken on a ranch hand and noticed the difference , proving that Tim never did any work.
Amy was almost back to herself, Marion arranged for a disabled taxi to take and collect her from school, eventually she'd handed the wheelchair back to the hospital and was riding again. She was really happy and ready to start showjumping on the circuit again.
