Chapter 12

Lucas was disgusted with the way Ty was acting. If he could tell it was Amy, then so could Ty, unless he was in denial.  But he wasn't finished yet. He knew Amy had almost finished her therapy, so he put his phone to video and put it in his top pocket with the lens pointing out. He walked over to her and saw the IV bag was finished, so he disconnected it and cleaned the PICC . "There you go, Mrs  Borden, we will see you in three days this time. We need to increase the doses."
"Yes, I was told the tumour was shrinking but not fast enough."
"Yes, that's right, your mother, Mrs Fleming, is here to collect you. Take it easy and rest. Here's your appointment for Thursday."
"Thank you, bye."
As Amy was about to leave, she put her wig and hat on, then smiled and nodded her head to Lucas as she left.
Just as Amy got to the lift, the doors opened, and Marion stepped out. She put her arms around Amy, and Lucas saw Amy sag into Marion's arms.  He knew she was being brave, trying to keep herself upright and strong, but Lucas knew that this time round, it would sap all her energy, and she'd feel worse.

When Lucas got home, he edited the video and sent it to Ty with a message.
"Watch the bloody video, Ty. You can not tell me that this is not your wife. For your information, Ty, Amy’s Tumour isn't shrinking very fast. They have started a stronger course, which is making the effects worse for her. If it doesn't work, it will be radiotherapy next, then a Craniotomy
Operation."
Amy spent the next two days in bed ill, being sick and can only take liquid food. Her weight was falling off her, and she looked like a zombie with her dark rings and pale complexion.
Marion was finding it hard, bursting into tears when on her own, and she'd seen Lyndy slowly retreating into herself.
She knew she needed help, and there were only two people who could do that. Marion made the phone call.

The following day about noon, Marion saw a taxi approaching the ranch house, it pulled up, and two people got out as the driver retrieved their luggage from the boot.
Marion ran out.
"Mum, Dad, thank you for coming."
Marion was crying and gave her parents the biggest and longest hugs ever.
"So where's the idiot husband of yours? Still breathing, is he."
"Jack Bartlett,  stop with the name calling this instance. "
"Sorry Lyndy, so Marion, where is he."
"I kicked him out, Dad,Mum. He endangered the life of my youngest daughter by the most obscene arrangement with someone he owed money to. Eventually, Amy wanted to tell the police and he found out somehow,  he shot me and Amy, She also lost her baby due to the injury.  Let's get inside, and I'll explain what's going on."
"Lead the way, love,"
"Actually, Dad, I'll take the cases inside, and we can have coffee on the porch, as Amy's sleeping."
Jack and Lyndy snr sat and waited for Marion to bring the coffee out.

Marion sat down with her parents and gave them their coffees.
"So why is Amy sleeping in the middle of the day love."
"Oh mum, this is why I phoned, Amy’s dying mum, she has a malignant brain tumour and the chemotherapy has been increased as it's not shrinking fast enough."
Marion told them everything that had happened. Tim was in a rehabilitation centre and the one who attacked and eventually shot them was doing a long stretch in prison.
Marion had always sent a letter and photos whenever she could to her Parents, always  when Tim was out.
It wasn't long till a little girl came out of the door.
"Nana,  mummy won't wake up."
"Okay, I will go and see her, look who's here, you remember the photos I showed you, don't you. ( she nodded) Mum, dad, I'd like to introduce to you in Person,  your great Granddaughter  Lyndy Fleming Borden. You stay with your Great granddad and Great Grandma. I'll go see mummy okay."
Marion rushed in to check on Amy as Lyndy ran to Jack and Lyndy snr.
Marion checked on Amy and tried to wake her. She came out and went straight to the house phone, she phoned Oncology and ask for Help, Lucas was on duty and took the call, he immediately told Marion he was sending an Ambulance.

Marion went outside to let Jack and Lyndy know what was happening.
"Is Mummy going back to ospital nanny."
"Yes Love, mummy's very poorly and the hospital is a better place for her."
"Oh okay, can we go see her".
"Yes, probably tomorrow, I'll have to ask her doctor. "
"Can I go cuddle mummy for a bit."
"Till the Ambulance gets here love."
Lyndy got down off GG Lyndy's Lap and ran to her mummy.
Marion put her head in her hands and broke down, but was soon held in her mum's arms.
"What's happened love."
"Doctor Lucus said he needs to operate immediately, the tumour hasn't shrunk because it's still growing,  it's putting to much pressure on her brain mum. I'm so scared I'm going to loose her."
Jack approached her and bent down to Marion's height," we are here to help you love, you go with Amy and we will follow, we'll look after Lyndy."
"Thanks dad."
Finally the Ambulance arrived at the hospital and Lucas was waiting for them, he explained that the Neurosurgeon was waiting in the operating room, he'd looked over the MRI scans and felt that something was wrong with the tumour, it should be getting smaller. Marion went and gave Amy a kiss before she went up to the OR, so did Jack and Lyndy. Then Lyndy jnr asked to give her mum a kiss as well, Marion picked her up and took her to see her mum who was already prept for surgery.
Lyndy looked at her mummy and kissed her, "You better come back mummy, cus we got to finish our game, I love you." She whispered into Amy's ear, then waved to her as her Nana held her.
Marion turned and walked back to Lyndy and Jack, then because it was a 5 - 7 hour operation they went home to wait.
Waiting was horrendous,  after 5 hours they went back to the hospital as Marion hoped that it would be over soon, little Lyndy was asleep,  half on the chair and half on Nana's lap.
Then Marion saw a surgeon walking towards her with his head down and a sad face, ( "I'm so sorry Mrs Fleming  but your daughter didn't survive the surgery ").
