Chapter 5

5 Years Later.

Amy was 21 years old now and had been competing since she'd fully recovered. She was a champion, and she hadn't gone unnoticed . Marion was so pleased with what her daughter had achieved that she could see it in her smile.

"Amy, make sure you're in tomorrow morning as you have a visitor calling to see you."
"Oh, who's that mum."
"Sorry love, I am sworn to secrecy. You'll find out tomorrow."
"Oh, okay then."
Amy went to give her horse a bit of fuss and TLC , and she stopped to talk to Ty, who was a great ranch hand and her fiance. In fact, Amy and Ty had been dancing around each other for ages. Eventually, when Amy was 17, they started dating and got engaged when she turned 20.
Amy told Ty she was going for a quick trail ride, and an hour later, she was coming back along one of the back roads. The weather had changed
rather quickly with very high winds and heavy rain was on its way. She phoned Ty and let him know she was on her way back.
She saw a truck coming towards her just as a branch hit her head, knocking her off her horse called Onyx. Amy heard the truck stop and someone coming to help her, but she had no idea who it was as she was a little spaced out from the knock to her head.
"You alright, you've got a bad gash on your head."
He made sure he was behind her,
" Your Tim Flemings lass aren't you."
"Yes, I am."
Then everything went black, and Amy hit the ground.

Tim Fleming was in his mobile home when his mobile rang.
"Hello."
"Ah Tim, so do you have my money? This is your last chance, mate."
" Look, I'll see if I can get a couple of my daughters' horses or her thoroughbred Jumper she uses for competitions."
"Not interested Fleming, horses can be identified. I'll get my money's worth out of your daughter. She's sleeping in the back of my truck for now. It was a nice coincidence bumping into her as she got knocked off her horse. I'll make sure she enjoys everything."
"You bastard, I said to leave her out of it. She doesn't know anything about this."
"Well, she won't know anything about this either. You'd better make sure you keep your mouth shut, or I'll put her to sleep permanently Tim, you understand me."
"Yes, okay, I understand. Please don't hurt her."
"Well, this is down to you Fleming, if you can't pay your losses, then you shouldn't gamble with your daughters life."

Amy was still unconscious as the guy who wanted his money or money's worth injected Amy with a drug to keep her compliant if she wakes up, and when she does wake up she won't remember anything about before she got knocked off her horse.
Marion and Ty were getting worried as Amy hadn't come home, and it was now dark, raining, and high winds.
Ty tacked up one of the horses as did Marion, and they decided to stay together due to the weather.
Thankfully, some people had just parked up the road trying to catch their own horses to get them in their horse trailer due to the weather.
In the end, he decided not to do anything as they may have him on Dashcam, so he pulled the tailgate down and got Amy on the side kerb but put her face down. He looked around and then drove off.
They'd been searching for two hours, then Ty saw something
"Marion,there's Onyx, and there's something on the edge of the road. It's Amy."
They both rode over as fast of possible. When they got to her, they moved the large branches that had been placed on top of her, and then checked her over, they then gently turned her over, keeping her body straight as her face was almost in a puddle which she could have drowned in. Marion noticed blood at the back and side of her head.
Ty was already on the phone for an ambulance.

Marion went with an unconscious Amy, and Ty, being the nice young man he was, he took all the horses back to the ranch. By the time he got back, they were all soaked and wind swept.
The ambulance turned up at the hospital, and Marion could see that there were a lot of people who had been hurt by this storm, which had just appeared out of nowhere.
As a precaution, they took Amy for an MRI due to her medical history, she got the all clear, and the nurse's cleaned her up. She needed a couple of stitches in each wound.
"So, do you remember getting hit, Amy?"
"No, but I do remember the weather changing almost immediately then nothing."
"Right, stitches are in, but this will sting a little. Just need to stop any infection after 3 ready, 1."
"OW, that's cheating."
The nurse just smiled at her, then gave her eight tablets to last over two days. She then put a square bandage on each wound and used a medical hair net to hold them in place for the next two day's due to possible bleeding.
"If you still get a headache when these are finished, just use regular headache medication from a pharmacy. "
Ty turned up and was surprised to see them waiting for him. Ty hugged her gently, and they kissed.

Later that evening, Marion got a phone call off Tim.
"Yes Tim, what do you want."
"Amy, is she okay."
"Yes thankfully, the hospital gave her the all clear after an MRI, she has some stitches to two wounds on the back of her head."
"WHAT? What was she hit with Marion. "
"What do you expect Tim, we've got high winds, trees, and large branches coming down, how did you know she was hurt!."."
"Oh, yeah, right, of course, give her my love, please. Bye."
"Okay, bye!! ."
Marion thought that the phone call from Tim was weird, as if it was more than just Amy getting knocked off her horse. She wasn't sure what, but the doctors had checked Amy over.
Marion kept a watch on her daughter through the night. Her alarm was set for regular intervals to check on her sleeping and being able to wake up.
Marion, at least, got to get some sleep even if it was broken sleep.
Amy walked into the kitchen at about 8 am. holding her head, Marion gave her two of the tablets the doctor gave her and a glass of water.
"Amy, are you alright? You do not look well, love. You have black rings around your eyes, and you look pale. Are you sleeping!!"
"Not really, mum."
"What's going on Amy, talk to me, love."
"I didn't sleep properly, mum. I kept having a nightmare of being attacked."
