Holyy shittt, that is gone gone
I hear the coach on the other team yell out
"I told you a change up! Not a fastball! My goodness Jane! Get it together or I'm pulling you!"
He needs to chill, it was just a misread call
I'm sitting in the front row and Sloane jogs across home plate
She picks up her bat and does a little celebration dance with her team and then walks over to near where I am
"Being here did help the healing process" she says smiling
"I'm glad" I say smiling back
She walks off and I watch as the rest of the game goes on
Sloanes team slowly left them in the dust letting them catch up by 1-3 each inning after they scored at least 4 every inning
They finish up the game and Sloane comes over to me
"Hiii!" She says
"Hi! I'm proud of you! That was a great game!" I say
"Really? Thank you!" She says
She walks off and I walk out of the stands
I go wait by my car and wait for her
"Hey! I thought you would've left!" She says and hugs me
"Why would I leave?" I say and smile
"I don't know!" She says and smiles
"I really am proud of you, hitting a home run that far out is hard to do even in baseball" I say
I genuinely am proud of her, I'm not just saying that
"Aww! I'm sure you can hit it just as far" she says
"We'll see, I have a game at 7pm, I don't care if you come but I would like you too" I say
"Even if you don't want me there I'm going to be there" she says
"I've been in a slump so don't expect anything" I say
"Well maybe I rubbed some magical rainbow glitter from a unicorn onto you when we hugged and it'll get you out of the slump!" She says
We both laugh and she chooses to ride home in my car instead of on the team bus
We head back over to the college and I walk into our dorm with Sloane following me
"Dorm sweet dorm" I say and Sloane laughs
Her laugh is adorable and it makes me laugh every time she laughs
I go over to my drawer and I dig for a bit before pulling out my pants, belt and my socks
I walk over to the other part and I grab my jersey
Royals
I double check my uniform
Royal blue jersey, royal blue pants, black belt, back socks, and a black long sleeve undershirt, perfect
I go into the bathroom and I change and then I walk out
"Ready to go?" I say
"Yep! Let me throw on a hoodie, it'll be cold when I'm in the stands" she says
"Okay I'll go start the car" I say and walk out
I walk out of the dorm and into the parking lot
I find my car and start it
I pull it up to the front and wait for Sloane
She walks out and hops into my car
"Isn't that my hoodie?" I say and start to drive off
"Maybe..." she says holding in her laughter
I laugh and she laughs too
We arrive at the park and I get all my stuff out of the trunk and we walk in
*Sloanes pov*
"Don't you think you need a little bit more of some magical rainbow glitter dust from a magical rainbow glittery unicorn to get you out of your slump?" I say walking in with him
"I probably do need some rainbow glitter dust" he says
I grab his bat and rub my hands all over the grip, I then grab his glove and put my hand inside
"This feels weird" I say and we both laugh
I put all his stuff back in and we make it too the field
I hug him and he hugs me back before I go and sit down in the bleachers
They warm up but they aren't nearly as energetic as the softball team
The game starts and Collins team is home team
They send him out to shortstop because that's his best position
First pitch of the game, straight to Daniel
They easily make the play and the second pitch comes
Ball one
Strike one
Ball two
Ball three
Strike two
And they hit it and get a single
The next pitch comes and the catcher drops it but immediately grabs it and throws down to second
It looks good, I think they are going to get him out
"Out!" The umpire calls out
The people on our side clap and stuff but Collins slowly walks back
Something isn't right
