How The Tables Turn

. . .

OG'S HUT

Sonic's Perspective

"Stay down." I alerted Amy and Sticks. We had barely made it back to Og's hut doing our best to avoid the love-sick villagers that stood guard between the forest and the small house.

"They're surrounding the place," Amy said. "How are we gonna get in?" She asked. I pondered the thought for a brief moment, quickly considering I could speed there before I was noticed. However, Sticks stood up before I could plead my case. She only looked at us worriedly before staring back at the hut; it was as if she had an idea but wasn't sure if Amy and I would approve.

"I've got a plan." Sticks replied, her eyes staying glued to the ground. I looked at her suspiciously, wondering what she had in mind.

"I'm all ears," I replied, attempting to sound determined, but in the back of my mind, I was losing it. That's when a deep sigh ranged from our badger friend as she intently eyed the hut.

"I'll distract them." She said confidently. Amy and I both shared worried glances as we quickly tried to reason with Sticks before she made her haste decision.

"Wait, what? No, Sticks!" Amy cried. I only nodded in agreement.

"Amy's right, Sticks, that's insane! We can't risk you getting caught." I pleaded. The badger only shook her head, clearly disagreeing.

"They don't want me. They want you. If I can sneak past them, I'll be able to grab the ingredients we need; then we can bunker down somewhere safely when we make the serum for the love potion." She replied. I noticed a somber look in her eyes, almost as if she knew there was a chance she couldn't make it. I wanted to disagree, but too much was at stake. I looked to Amy for reassurance, only to notice tears brimming in her eyes before slowly streaming down her face. We must've shared the same thoughts as she looked at me, knowing what we ultimately had to do. I nodded to Sticks as she looked at me confidently nodding back. She immediately took off towards the hut, being careful not to alert the nearby love-sick villagers.

EGGMANS THEME PARK

"Where is he?!" Eggman spat at his two robot henchmen. Both Orbot and Cubot frantically checked each monitor, but the blue blur was nowhere to be found.

"W-we're working on it right now, sir," Cubot responded. Eggman instantly groaned at the lack of progress they had made as he anxiously paced back and forth.

"Well, hurry up! This won't work unless we have his location!" Eggman yelled. Orbot and Cubot shuttered under the doctor's menacing glare as the two quickly searched through the endless camera footage. After a while, Orbot finally spotted the young trio. It seemed as if Amy saved Sonic from a group of hyenas as the violent creatures quickly scattered away.

"The latest update the bots have been able to report is that they are in..." Orbot waited a short moment until his monitor finished beeping. After a short while, a small ding could be heard alerting the small red robot his location had been detected. "Here they are!" Orbot anxiously shouted. Eggman looked at the monitor, instantly recognizing the familiar blue shade of fur hiding out of sight near Og's hut.

"Brilliant, prepare the potion now so when they arrive, we'll be ready..." Eggman demanded, letting a small smile play on his lips. The robots profusely nodded at the Dcotors' request.
