CHAPTER 29

AND SO IT BEGINS

"I heard what happened." agad na pumunta dito ang asawa ni Thea.

Ang bilis naman kumalat ng balita na nagising si Vy. Sabagay, nagtatakbo ba naman akong sumisigaw. Dahil sa sobrang gulat kanina bigla na lang akong na mental block. Hindi ko na alam kung paano kumilos ng tama at ganon rin sa pag-iisip. Nakatulog ako kanina tapos pag gising ko, biglang nag flat line yung sa machine niya.

For a moment there, I really thought that I completely lost her. Na dumating na yung pangyayare na hindi ko gustong dumating- ang mawala siya. I almost lost myself and thought of ways in how to follow her to the afterlife. Kaka-experience ko lang kanina yung nangyare sa kanya tapos mararanasan ko naman ulit.

I feel like my life is cursed.

A cursed that was set on me so that I would not escape the never ending torture of agony.

I've lost her for countless times.

Noong una, it was after the accident from the car when we crashed. Then she got hurt because of the mimicker. Next was when she began avoiding me.  Another was when she dissapered- there's just too many. Up until now, I'm still not used to being left by her. I mean, why would I even get used to something I never wanna experience. It is constantly happening and I just wanna wish for everything to stop.

Masakit at nakakapagod na.

When will we reach our own happy ending?

When I tried to touch her to check if her body was cold, I was taken aback after discovering that she was still warm. Her heartbeat was gone but she was still warm. That made me immediately leave her room to look for doctors to revive her.

Returning with them, bumungad sa amin na mulat na ang mata nito at nakatingin sa aming gawi. I got frooze to where I was standing and the doctors had to push me out of the room. They needed to conduct some test on her to make sure that her brain activity is normal. Tulala ako non when they close the door to my face, not able to process my brain to whatever just happened. Nasampal ko pa yung sarili ko kanina to make sure that I was not in a dream. And that.. Few minutes after hearing her heart not beating. Her body, lifeless on the hospital bed. I returned after leaving and discovered that she was awake.

Who wouldn't be shock with that?

"Did she open her eyes?" tumango ako sa tanong nito.

Nasa labas ako ngayon ng k'warto ni Vy at hinihintay na matapos ang mga doctor sa ginagawa sa kanya. Ilang minuto na'rin ang nakalilipas at hanggang ngayon ay ni isa sa tatlong 'yon ay wala pa' rin lumalabas.

" How did it happen?" nang tignan ito ay mukhang mas hindi pa siya mapakali kaysa sa'kin.

Hindi ko malaman kong natutuwa ba siya, kinakabahan, natatakot, o natataranta. Basta, ang hirap basahin ng mga kilos niya. Like me, she's also waiting but in an anxious way.

" Hindi ko alam, nakatulog ako kanina and when I woke up." Tinignan ko ito na para bang may hinihintay na sagot. "Her heart was beating no more." she covers her mouth in shock as if not able to believe the news she just heard. "But when I returned, gising na siya." dagdag ko pa.

"Shannel." lumapit ito sa akin at ipinatong ang kanyang kamay sa aking balikat.

Her eyes are expressing a feeling of  excitement and delight.

"Congratulations, your girlfriend is finally awake." ngiti nitong saad at niyuyogyog pa ako.

"We are not yet sure. Baka mamaya sabihin ng doctor na reflexes lang 'yon at bumukas mag isa ang mata 'non." panimula ko at binawi naman nito ang kanyang kamay. "Tapos pipikit na naman siya tapos hindi naman magigising." I say as I walk back and fourth infront of her door.
