EP 20 A sudden threat

Dunk was confused when Dew introduced Phi Jimmy to him, stating that he will be his personal doctor during his pregnancy.

"He's is the best gynae in town." Dunk agreed without much thought. Dew was known to always search for the best. Dunk didn't know what he would be without his best friend. He hugged him in gratitude. Dew had squeezed him tightly with a hand on his head as he stroke his hair. He had a frown on his face. He had gotten the news that the doctor that Dunk saw the day before was missing. It didn't bode well with him. He was afraid for Dunk's life.

Gene was updating Joong on the ongoings within JAA entertainments when he saw Dunk's name appeared on the screen of his phone. He had stopped Gene and picked up the call with a smile.  

"teerak" he greeted Dunk on the call. Dunk had been struggling with the morning sickness, he had lost a lot of weight as he could hardly stomach anything. So, when he had called asking Joong to grab the strawberry shortcake from the cafe that they first met, he was more than glad to go out of the way to grab it. Dunk rarely had a craving so he would oblige if he does. He ended the call with a soft rak na khup, jub jub. 

Gene shuddered and couldn't help but comment. "waan gern (too sweet)"

Joong just wore a dreamy smile without much of a comment to what Gene said.

Joong frowned when he saw a few men in black suit trying to enter the apartment building where his penthouse was at. He watched as the security chased them out for not having a valid reason to be there. He felt one of them stare at him as he walked into the building. It gave him the creeps, there was prickling sensation on the back of his neck. He couldn't help but rush back to Dunk as fast as he could.

When he opened the door, Dunk was sleeping on Dew's lap as he massaged his head. Phuwin was preparing dinner along with ginger tea for Dunk. Pond was getting the table ready with plates and cutleries for everyone. 

Joong still didn't know what to make of Dew. He wanted to be jealous of him but he is Dunk's best friend and Dunk had hoped that he would get along with him. Dunk wasn't feeling well so who was him to deny his beloved the comfort he needed.  

"Just in time for dinner, Joong." Pond commented when he noticed him. Dunk was awoken when he heard Joong's name. He was pale but Phi Jimmy had mentioned that it would be rough on Dunk for the first  trimester. He went over to give Dunk a hug and a sniff kiss as he helped him to the dining table.  Dunk had taken a few bite of dinner before pushing it away. Joong slides the strawberry shortcake towards Dunk. Phuwin shook his head. 

When Joong mentioned of the strange men he saw at the front of the building, there was a look that flashed across Phuwin and Dew's face. Before he could make sense of it, a strange ringtone was heard. Phuwin had quickly looked through his bag and picked it up. He could see the relief in his face as he spoke on the phone. 

"Loong (uncle) is coming back, Dunk." Dunk's eyes sparkled at the news. Joong remembered Phuwin briefly mentioning that they had an uncle at the doctor's visit when Dunk fainted but he had yet to ask Dunk about it. Dew patted Dunk's hand and smiled knowing how happy he was that his uncle was coming home. He looked towards Joong.

"It's best that Dunk doesn't leave the penthouse until loong comes back." He looked at Dunk pointedly afterwards. 

"Don't go anywhere alone until I get you a few bodyguards or until loong informs you of his arrangement." Dew warned.

"Dai sii khup (sure)" Dunk had always listened and followed his best friend's arrangement since he had his best interest in mind. Joong frowned as he felt that there was something more than what was said. Joong made sure he had time alone with Dew before he left. He had seen him to the lift. Dew knew Joong had questions but there really wasn't much he could tell. 

"I can't answer you more than Dunk's life is in danger. You need to be extra careful to safeguard Dunk and the baby." he looked at Joong sharply right before the door to the lift closed. Joong run a hand through his hair as he processed what Dew said.

Joong had spooned Dunk as he slept. He laid a hand on his lower belly, feeling the tiny bulge that didn't use to be there. It didn't cease to amaze him that Dunk was carrying a life within him. He kissed his shoulder as he hugged him tighter. He will make sure that the two most important people in his life would be safe.
