EP 29 safe

Dunk had been recovering well but he was still a little too weak to carry the baby on his own. He was cooing at the baby as Phuwin held him. Joong walked in with Pond behind him. Joong made a grab for the baby as he fed him a bottle. Dunk leaned against his arm as he watched. 

"Have you decided what you're going to name him yet?" Pond asked as he sat beside Phuwin. Joong looked towards Dunk. Dunk had a finger to the baby's cheek. 

"Daoneua, our little northern star. Are you full, our little Dao?" He smiled as he caressed Dao's cheek with a finger. Baby Dao gurgled as he finished the bottle. 

"It seems that he likes that name" Joong smiled. Joong held him up and pats his back, waiting for the burp to come.

When Dunk and little Dao was asleep, Joong, Pond and Phuwin had gathered with Mile, Apo and Dew to speak about what happened at Phaibun's base. Joong had told them what Phaibun had said, Mile and Apo sighed. 

"I have to confess. It wasn't coincidental when we met." Apo looked towards Phuwin and Dew. 

"You knew we ran away." Phuwin voiced quietly. 

" Phaibun was a deranged scientist. We have been hunting him for years but when we heard that there were kids in his compound, we knew we needed to get you out first. But you all got a head start" Phuwin nodded.

"You didn't really find your parents, did you?" Phuwin looked towards Dew. 

"My brother, Barcode, was taking care of him with his husband, Jeff." Apo answered. 

"I knew I had to leave. I had heard of his plan before I escaped. I didn't know who it was that he was referring to or what he really meant. But as I got older, I finally understood and told loong about it." Dew explained. 

"Those powers that he mentioned..." Joong started but didn't know how to phrase it. 

"I wouldn't put much stock to it. Dunk had been a voice actor for years, he had the training to sound suave. Phuwin puts in as much work and effort to be multi-talented. With eyes as different as theirs, anyone would surely fall for them. Dew could be hypnotized for all we know. Sure, Dunk did manage to get pregnant but look at it now. He only managed to have Dao and it collapsed after. It was all in his mind. He was deranged" Joong nodded to it. It sounded logical. 

Joong went back to his room. He checked on baby Dao in the crib before hugging Dunk to sleep with a smile. His family is safe and that was all that mattered.

Pond was staring at the ceiling deep in thoughts when Phuwin climbed onto the bed. He sighed. 

"I take it back, Phu. I don't want a baby anymore. I don't want you to go through what Dunk went through" He hugged Phuwin, burying his face on his chest. 

"It won't be that scary now that we know what to expect. We'll be more equipped. We have all the support that we need" Phuwin tried to persuade Pond. He had started to dream of having one of his own the moment he held baby Dao in his arms. But he could feel Pond shaking his head on his chest. 

"We'll cross that bridge when the time comes." Phuwin stroked Pond's hair and hugged him to sleep.

Baby Dao was wailing in the wee hours in the morning. Dunk had woken up while Joong was dead to the world with the lack of sleep since he was shouldering the responsibility of taking care of baby Dao while Dunk recovered from his surgery. It wasn't feeding time yet so baby Dao wasn't looking for a bottle. Dunk had checked his diapers but it didn't require changing. Dunk checked every inch of baby Dao to see if there was any cause of disturbance but there was none. He was inconsolable and only cried harder no matter how hard Dunk tried to distract him or comfort him.

"Sleep, my little Dao. Sleep" There was a soft glow in Dunk's eyes as he instructed. Baby Dao started to yawn and slept on command.

A/N: I think all new mothers would like to have Dunk's powers 🤣🤣 There is still an epilogue tomorrow. A little too tired after this two EP so tomorrow it is. 

So what does Mile and Apo really do? they are mafias. that isn't wrong🤭🤭 but they also deal with military grade weapons that had somehow led them to Phaibun. When they knew how crazy he was, experimenting on kids, they wanted to get rid of him. That's basically the background to it. 

Just one more epilogue tomorrow😄😄
