"Your mission is to defeat our enemy number one."
"I can't kill people, I can't even-!?"
"Just make him suffer."
"Oh, then what do we know about him?"
"We'll get you a copy of all we have on him... and Y/n?"
You look up at the cotton candy haired girl.
"No one has come back successful."
"Well..."
"None of them have been me."

"How is this the only information we have on him?"
"We have more, but he continues to hack into our systems and delete our intelligence."
"Our systems?" you pause, looking down at the feeble file, "He must be good."
"He's a lot better than good. But that's irrelevant. We'll get the rest of the information we have to you by the end of the day."
You nod, carefully packing the file into your messenger bag at your hip. Turning to leave the building.
"Oh and Y/n?"
You look over your shoulder at the cotton candy headed girl.
"Don't fail us. You're on thin ice, and we won't hesitate to take action."
Your grip grows stronger on the strap of your bag. Your feet carrying you out into the busy streets. You wouldn't fail another mission. The last you went on...
You didn't want to think about it, feet carrying you home as you placed your earbuds into your ears, and blocked out the thoughts that wished to hurl themselves at you.
You drop your bag by your front door, and stare at the vast furnished emptiness that was your home. Decidingly grabbing your coat again from the hooks by your door, checking your pockets for your phone, headphones, and wallet, and leaving again. Locking the door behind you.
You would have liked to stay inside, maybe work on the article you had been writing, but your thoughts were too loud, and you couldn't bear the thought of being inside without anyone there any longer.
Your walk led you to a pizza place, and your stomach hurriedly growled before you passed up the shop. Walking a few paces back on the concrete and opening the door. A welcome heat crawling over your skin and into your bones.
You walk over to the counter, and smile at the little screen blinking at you.
'Order Here!'
You click around, looking at the options, before muttering under your breath.
