John POV:
I told Sydney about the adoption papers and she seemed excited which made me happy.

I love having her around . She is not as shy as she was before and she is starting to open up more. That's when I knew I wanted to adopt her .

When I told her that we had to talk to her foster mom she seemed a little  uneasy which is completely understandable because of what she's been through and I didn't want to force her but it had to be done.

We went to the house and her foster mom looked drunk and like she isn't taking care of herself but I talked to her and she let us both inside.

I noticed Sydney looked nervous so I tried to get this done as quickly as possible.

She signed the papers with no hesitation like she didn't care.

She gave the papers back with her signature and then Sydney and I left and knowing that we never have to come back here again made me feel relieved.

We went back to the car and I looked at Sydney and she looked at me and I could see the happiness in her eyes like I just saved her.

I couldn't believe that she was legally going to be my daughter.
