Lin returned to the black order to find that someone had joined the group. She ran into him in the dining hall. He ordered an insane amount of food and he ate it all. She asked the chef if she could make a cake and quickly whipped one up. She sliced it and left a slice next to him. She had put a note on the plate, it read "Welcome to the black order. Please enjoy the cake." She put her name at the bottom and her room number.
She went to Komui and handed him his special slice of cake. Being her taster meant you are required to try every cake. She found Leenalee and asked if she would like a slice of cake. She took a slice and said it was the best cake she'd ever had. Lin went to the room where she heard the singing again and knocked on the door. The door remained firmly shut. "Hello." She said. She thought and sung her melody. She slid a note under the door. It said 'I have cake. Please open the door.' No one can refuse cake. The door creaked open and she saw a tall, slender girl with shocking white hair in a ponytail. Lin caught and glimpse of lilac tints. Her fringe covered her right eye almost entirely. Her eyes were a beautiful shade of hazel. Her left arm looked slightly bruised at the top but then Lin realised that she had parasite type innocence. She smiled at the girl and held out the slice of cake. The girl took the plate and ate the slice in front of her. "Thanks." She said. "What's your name? Mine is Lin." She said. "Rene Umi." The girl replied. Lin took her plate and went to the kitchens. "I'll be back in a minute." She called to her. Quick as a flash, she was back at Rene's door. The door was shut. Lin sighed. Why was she so shy? Lin left and went to her room.
After a few weeks, Lin returned to the black order after chasing a dead end. She went to see Komui so she could report her findings. She went to her room. She heard two boys walking to her room. She stopped changing to listen to what they were saying. "I wonder what she's like?" One asked. "I don't know. I've not met her either." The other said. They knock and wait. They knock again and then open the door. Lin met the eyes of the first boy. She punched him in the face, sending him flying. Lin pulled her shirt down hurriedly and walked out of her room. The other boy apologised over and over for his friend's actions. "My name is Allen Walker. This is Lavi." He said. " Lin Curtis. Why did you come here?" She asked. Allen showed her the note she left him. She smiled. "I'm glad you liked the cake." She said to Allen. She walked to the dining hall. They both walked in five minutes later and Lin avoided them at all costs. Night fell, and all of the guys in the order were outside of Lin's door. Allen and Lavi asked one of them what they were doing. "We have a little game. It's called 'let's wake Lin'. The aim of the game is to wake her up by poking her but if you are seen or touched by her, you lose. Lavi entered the room and sees Lin sleeping in a small nightgown that didn't fit her. Lavi ignored the game and listened to her dreaming. She said his name. This catches him off guard and he covers her with a blanket. He walked out and shuts the door. He sits in front of the door and doesn't move. The guys complain at him and he responds with only this: "If you want to see daylight tomorrow, leave now." Everyone ran.
