Lin woke up to find herself on the floor. She got up and checked that she wasn't bruised anywhere. Her back started to itch and from it she pulled out a feather. She sharpened the bottom and made a quill. She made lots of quills. She activated her innocence to check on her wings. Ever since she was little, she had a tattoo of angel wings on her back. Her innocence made these real. Every year, a week before her birthday, she would lose a white feather and it would be replaced by a rainbow feather. They were beautiful. "A week to go. Then I shall be older." She counted her rainbow feathers. 16. She will turn 17. She stroked her wings and stretched them. She yawned and headed to see Komui. On the way, she ran into Allen. "Did you sleep well? I know it can be hard adjusting to a new bed." Allen looked at her puzzled. This girl, who had given him cake and his friend a beating, is a strange one.
She asked Komui if there was anything weird going on anywhere. She was bored and wanted to go somewhere new. There wasn't anything. She sighed and went into town instead. She explored the shops and found a beautiful dress. She had never worn a dress before. It was a night sky purple. It had a corset-like design at the back and the skirt flared out slightly. It fit perfectly over her frame. She twirled and swished the skirt. She bought the dress using some of her saved up winnings. As she walked towards the order, a man pulled her into a dark alley and held a knife to her throat. She stuck her hand in her pocket and threw a knife into his foot. She heel kicked him in the diaphragm and ran. She returned to her room as soon as she reached the order.
The guys decided to have another game of 'let's wake Lin' without Lavi. Allen went only to stop them. They sent him in. He looked confused and bewildered. Lin sat up and turned to face Allen. "It's okay. I won't hurt you. You remind me of someone. Would you like to play a game with me?" She asked. "O-okay. What game?" Allen asked. "21." Allen smiled. He sat down and Lin produced her deck of cards. She shuffled the deck and dealt the cards. By sheer luck, both got 21. After six rounds, she asked Allen to leave. "Could you tell Lavi sorry for hitting him for me? Thank you." Allen bid her good night and left.
