As the cashier was ringing up the girls items lacy had used her charms speak "so you don't think you could give these to us for free..?" Lacy said with her voice so persuasive that no one could say no. As they were getting their items that they had gotten for free Annabeth sensed a monster... "Lacy get percy and grover off the bus now." Annabeth ordered. Lacy looked at the girl and nodded in form of agreement. "You need to open that window now!" Lacy shouted at the two boys. Percy and Grover both furrowed their eyebrows and looked at each other before proceeding to attempt to open the window.
"I don't think these are supposed to open-" percy said with a hint of panic in his voice "Percy im not kidding hurry up or I'll use you as a human hammer." Lacy shouted. Grover and Percy had never seen this side of Lacy. As the Fury had started to aproach the group the window smashed open. "Okay everyone evacuate quickly and quietly" the bus driver said. The group of kids just jumped out of the window scurrying away from the fury.
"Okay so whats our plan, o-or do we even have a plan, are we lost? I think we're lost." Lacy panicked Percy worried for the girl. He never wanted to see her panic, he wanted to keep her safe. Hewas going to keep her safe. No matter what. "I mean where are we even going now? I mean we're in a forest in jersey, which I didn't even know they had-" percy questioned. "This turns into a saytr path up ahead." Grover interrupted. "Whats a saytr path?" Percy questioned. Lacy looked at Annabeth who looked annoyed with the boy who kept asking questions.
"Im tired someone carry me." Lacy said while she clearly sounded tired "i can give you a piggyback ride" percy responded to the girl. The gorgeous girl smiled but just as she was going to respond she was interrupted by athenas daughter. "Shut up lacy." Annabeth said sternly. Lacy looked shocked, she couldn't believe what her supposed best friend had said. "What the fuck is wrong with you Annabeth? First you treat me like if im your best friend in the whole world, then you decide that you hate me and everyone. Whats up with that?" Annabeth stayed quiet after being called out. She didn't know how to respond to that. "My uncle Ferdinand actually took this same path on his search for Pan!" Grover said trying to change the subject, the poor satyr hated conflict and avoided it.
"We need a phone.." percy said lacy looked at him with a look of "what the fuck?" Annabeth still stayed quiet but she looked mad. "What for?" Lacy asked. "I mean to call camp, to ask for help." Percy responded confidently. The two girls looked at each other. "We cant call camp." Annabeth replied with clear annoyance in her voice as if it was obvious to the boy. "Why not?" Percy questioned, lacy just stayed quiet waiting for someone to say something. "Calling camp would be like saying it was a mistake to choose us. I will not let that happen. I will not disappoint." Annabeth sneered back. "Thats okay. Everyone makes mistakes.!" Percy said in a somewhat cheerful tone.
"No percy. We wont call camp, it would cause a bigger issue." Lacy said with a slight hint of anger. "Fine if we can't call camp, then let's at least call your moms." Lacy and Annabeth just looked at each other with disbelief. "It doesn't work like that Percy." Lacy said now the anger showing clear with her tone. "What are you so afraid of percy? You are a part of something bigger than we can understand right now." Annabeth shouted with anger in her voice. "Im just a kid, I shouldn't be going through this. I should not have be fighting monsters fearing for my life." Percy snapped back. "You are not just a kid, just a kid doesn't have hades sending top agents searching for them." Annabeth stated back. "Exciting to walk in Uncle Ferdinand's footsteps no, grover?" Lacy chirped in trying to lighten up the mood grover looked at the girl thanking her silently.
The group had sort of calmed down the argument, Lacy and Annabeth were still mad at each other, Percy and Annabeth had clearly not solved their issues. Grover and Lacy had been stuck in the middle. "Aunty Ems has a reputation for its stone folk garden." Lacy said trying to make conversation with the group. "What do you think Em stands for?" Annabeth said "let's get out of here before it's too late." Lacy had said with worry in her voice and eyes. As the girl was turning around, alecto turned up behind them "you should have accepted my offer while you still had the chance." Alecto said. Annabeth was about to reply till she got interrupted
"Not today my friends, not on my doorstep." A mysterious voice said. Lacy, annabeth, and grover immediately recognized it and shielded themselves, Lacy elbowed percy slightly as a form to tell him to copy her. It was Medusa.
"If you have a problem, maybe come inside and we can settle this inside. Will you be joining us Alecto?" The fury looked down shielding herself even more with embarrassment. Everyone had shielded themselves from the lady. Percy still didn't know who she was "pleasure to meet you son of Poseidon, I'm medusa." Percy was shocked how did she know his name? "How did you-" percy asked getting cut off by the snake haired lady. "A forbidden child has been claimed, how long did you think that secret would keep? Now if you would join me inside-" medusa was going to finished her sentence but Annabeth quickly cut her off. "Percy don't shes a monster." Percy looked at the dark haired girl. Medusa looked offended but kept her calm. "We choose who we make our monsters and right now this one wants to tear you limb from limb and I'm offering you lunch, the choice is yours."
