The Brawl...The Kiss?!!!!!?

Rex and I are sitting on my dads couch, watching some reality TV show I didn't care about. Amaya wouldn't tell me the specifics, but she had me reading this one book, called 50 shades of Grey. She told me that every since she read it, that her life has changed for the better, what ever that means.

"I don't get it, who doesn't like a nice fight." Rex laughs, keeping his eyes glued to the TV screen.

"There's more to life than violence. Have you ever thought about having another baby?" I ask, flipping another page of the book. God, its been a while since I've seen Nolan. He's probably gotten so big.

"Hell to the NO. One is enough." Rex chuckles. I laugh with him. Its been such a calm month with Rex, who knew he could be so fun to hang out with?

"I want another baby someday, possibly a little boy." I smile, looking down at my unborn daughter. I've been thinking of some names already.

"What the fu- Oh my god...OH MY GOD...OH MY FUCKING GOD!" I say, chucking the book on the floor. I can't believe she had me read something this-graphic.

"What's wrong? Are you cramping? Should I call Lawrence? SETH, SETH. GET IN HERE!" Rex yells.

"Rex, I was talking about the book." I say, pointing at it. Rex takes a deep breath as he goes to pick it up off the floor and hand it to me.

"Was it a spider?" Rex flinches, shoving the book at me gently.

"Are you telling me that spiders are your kryptonite?" I laugh. There's no way Rex could talk all this shit and be afraid of a little ass spider! Oh God this is hysterical!

"Have you ever read 50 Shades of Grey?" I say raising an eyebrow. I flip to the page I'd left off on and pass the book to him. He starts to read and I could just see his eyes widen in-well I do know what he was feeling, but shock could possibly be one. He read for hours! Whenever I tried taking the book away, he told me that the contents could burn my babies eyes.

"Melinda, where on earth did you get this book?" Rex chuckles, flipping through another page.

"Amaya." I say, rolling my eyes. I wanted to finish reading!

"Damn....Whatever bookstore she goes to....Damn..." Rex trails off. I get up to get the door when I hear somebody knocking on it. It must be Amaya. I open the door to a very pissed off Niko. He looked awful, He had grown out his stubble and his clothes were baggy. Like he'd lost weight. He clenched a piece of paper in hand. My heart beat quickened as fury flashed in Niko's eyes. What in the hell is going on?

"Melinda, WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS? I didn't agree to a fucking annulment! Who the hell do you think you are?" Niko yells, raising his voice at me.

"Whoa, who the fuck are you talking to like that?" Rex buts in, getting in Niko's face. Oh god, they're about to fight.

"Rex stay the hell outta this. I'm not FUCKING talking to you." Niko shouts, putting his fingers in Rex's face. I need to stop this. I can't let them fight. What if Niko hurts Rex? It'll be all my fault. Rex pushes Niko. Oh, no. I know I shouldn't have, but I rushed forward to break it up. A hand grabs at my arm. I catch a glimpse of my dad's face. He pulls me back, then pushes me upstairs.

"Stay in your room. Don't come out." my dad demands. I take my time upstairs. I can't risk falling. Once I'm safely in my room I close the door. I can hear my dad yelling. I can hear the bumping against the wall, hell I can nearly feel the impact of the punches. I hope Rex is alright. I would never forgive myself if Rex got hurt.

20 minutes later I hear Rex yelling, I knew the fight was over...

"Stay the fuck away from her! She doesn't want you anymore. Take your sorry ass home! Rex yells. I hear my dad open my bedroom door, worry all over his face.

"Rex is hurt. We need to take him to Lawrence." What? Did I not just hear him talking shit? I nod my head at my dad. I can't even imagine.

"How stupid can you be?" I ask Rex, watching Lawrence examine his midsection.

"You're right Melinda. He's got some broken ribs." Lawrence frowns.

"Don't worry Mel. I heal fast. Besides, Niko looks a lot worse than I do." Rex says with a cocky grin on his face.

"That was a well deserved ass kicking he just got! I told you I'd mop the floor with his face." Rex winked. Once Lawrence left the room. I got up from my seat and gave Rex the biggest hug I could. He cringed in pain at first, then his arms wrapped around my waist willingly.

"Thank you." I whisper in his ear. I felt him chuckle against me as he pat my back.

"You're welcome." Rex replies. I start to pull away from our hug, mainly because it had gotten awkward. Rex pulled his head back, and in one swift move his lips were against mine. His arms pulled me closer gently, but he kissed me hungrily. I managed to push him away. The words couldn't escape my lips. How..Why...I stormed for the door. I feel so violated.
