The Way Things should be P.2 : Codie's POV

Hi guys-girls! Before dedications I want to make my readers more...involved in the story. The first person to guess who Codie really is will have the baby girl or boy named after him or her. Keep in mind that I already have names for the babies and everything, but I'm willing to change for you! You get three tries and the hint are sprinkled into the story! Good luck!

" So you and Mel?" I frown, starring down at my brand new yellow Versace heels that Jared bought me for our...um...well for as long as we've been together anniversary. Melinda must be at the beach house resting. Niko is sitting beside me, telling me that he's banning me from the pack. Melinda must feel threatened by me or something. Either way i'm ready to leave, the person i'd come to see was buried over a decade ago.

"I'm going to do right by her and my kids-"

"Kids?! I thought you were having a daughter." What the hell? Is Melinda trying to trap him or what! She's probably lying about the other baby in order to make sure he takes care of them.

"Don't change the subject. Melinda is the only girl for me. So on behalf of my father Noah Carter, I hereby ban you from this pack. You have 48 hours to get all your belongings and leave town." Niko mutters, as he starts to get up from the couch.

"Niko wait-Are you going to tell her who I really am? Who I came here to see?" I say, pulling his arm. Niko turns to me with a very straight face. He takes his hand back before he becomes eye level with me.

"Telling her anything about why you're actually here would shame both our families. I don't want her to ever know....Before you go I must ask, It was you who tried to run her and Max off the road last year, wasn't it?" Niko narrows his eyes at me. How in hell did he find out? Did Max see me? Did Mel? it explains why she has so much hate for me.

"Mainly out of pure jealousy. I've spent nights wondering when I was a child, what made her so damn special. I'd figure after she died, that maybe my mother and my father would come looking for me."

"You're father has no idea you exist, but if he did...i'm sure he'd love you. Thanks for telling me about my sister. I'll be sure to take care of her before my kids come into the world." Niko replies, walking out of the pack house and into his car. Its all over...everything is all over.

"Yeah...Have a nice life." I say, getting up to go up to Kayley's room.

"So the plans off now? What happened to you hating Mel? Because she's having twins, everybody seems to just love her! I'd get my brother back for banning me, if I were you."

"Kayley why do you really hate Mel? She may come on strong if you put her against a wall, but other than that she's a wonderful person, she'll be a great mother and alpha female."

"My mother is the and will always be the best alpha female that ever lived." Kayley growled cradling Nolan in her arms.

"I finally got it! I know why you hate Mel so much. You know i'd hate myself if I was forced to watch the only man i'd ever loved go strutting after the very girl i used to call my friend. You cheat on him, thinking that he'd want you more. Then he left, leaving you pregnant with her sloppy seconds to pick up the slack of your baby daddy. How does it feel to hate yourself so much you blame somebody else. It must be a fucking headache." Kayley strikes me. The slap didn't hurt as much as she thought. Kayley fell to her knees crying, clutching Nolan against her chest.

"Get out." Kayley sobs.

"My pleasure." I reply.

I guess I should go get packing. It'll be a long drive to Chicago. I guess I should take the time to apologize to Melinda, but she probably wont take it. I dont think I want to see Jared, after all I used him for his money. I cant believe I've been so caught up in hatred that I couldn't see what was happening in front of me. I couldn't see the families I'd destroyed, all the promises I've broken, all the people I've hurt. I'm a monster no doubt about it, but what if my mother could see me now?

I'm going to change my life around. I want to find my mate and get married and have kids too. I guess I should start by letting out all my secrets like who I am and who my parents are and what my real name is. I carry on to my car and get in. I pull out the driveway and start towards my house. Strangely, the intersections weren't clogged today. Its such a nice day. I stop at a red light, popping in a CD before the light turns green.

I tap my fingers on the wheel, and bob my head to the beat as just as the light turns green and I cross over the white line. I just know that nobody will miss me. Who'd miss the packs number one whore? The bitch that broke up the alpha and his pregnant mate? I cant believe I let people call me that. Even Niko called me a whore. I get into the intersection, but i'm way to shocked to acknowledge somebody has just t boned me on the drivers side. All I feel is the pain...All I hear is the ambulance from a far distance. My vision is blurred and my limbs feel completely numb.

Karma is a huge bitch.
