The Ritual 2

Kayley's POV

Since dad and Niko were both out at the same time and Nolan was taking his daily nap, I thought I'd invite Codie over to talk about our worse enemy- Melinda. She arrived just in time for lunch. I was in the kitchen, cooking tacos. The only that I hate about Codie is that she never knocked on the damn door. She just walked in like she lives here or some shit. Codie immediately walked in and threw down her jacket and bag, she ran to hug me.

" I did it bitch! I heard Melinda got an annulment and your dad paid for it. How pissed is Niko?" Codie asked. Codie has really pretty blonde hair that sort of matched mine. Her ember colored eyes looked through just about any man. There's no doubt she has always gotten what she's wanted throughout her life.

" Niko won't talk to daddy and daddy won't talk to Niko. The only time they actually socialize is in Niko's room when they're painting the walls that God awful neon pink. Honestly it isn't any of my business daddy and Niko can work things out, they're grown men."

" I guess so. My poor Niko. Maybe I'll come over later tonight." Codie winks, hinting that she would be sleeping with my brother tonight. Its actually funny, I know for sure that Codie isn't Niko's type. I'm surprised he slept with her. I know Niko just going to sleep with her tonight. He told me he'd be over Mikey's tonight. He said he needed a day to hang out with the guys. whatever that means.

"I can't believe we broke them up! I'm so glad I fucking hate that bitch." I laugh, congradulating my best friend Codie. Melinda is now out of the picture. She took

Rex away from me. So I'm taking Niko away from her. Codie hopped off the stool, she stared at me for a while.

"She's your brother's mate. How can you not like her? I thought you were best friends, well that's what Jared told me when he invited me over last night." She looked up and smiled.

"You....and Jared? When did that happen?"

"He buys me any and everything I want." Codie grins, walking to my living room. She picked up an old picture of my mother, then set in down to grab a picture of Niko.

"Mel and I were friends. I don't know why, but Reese and I had this connection while he and Mel were dating. The only thing is he didn't want to break up with her. I thought if I showed him how better I was than Mel that He'd kick her to the curb....She walked in on us having sex. She told Rex and Rex wanted nothing to do with me."

"...I don't get it. You're mad because she told Rex you slept with Reese? You slept with Reese! She had every right to."

"What are jumping on the Melinda Triggs Fan bus now? She ruined my life."

"You ruined hers. At least I have a good reason not to like her."

"Did you not just sleep with my brother to break them up? If anything you copied me!"

"Copied you? Niko and I belong together. He loves me."

"Then why is he at Mel's house right now? He's probably getting back together with her right now." Codie thought about it for a while. What if they were getting back together? That would ruin everything.

"What's phase two? I need to make sure they never get back together."

"Phase two is a very dangerous, very delicate situation...You have to get Mel to lose the baby. It won't take much. All you have to do is get her to change into a wolf. That's like instant abortion. If Mel lost the baby, Niko and Mel would have absolutely nothing to bind them together." It took Codie some time to think about it. It's true though. God, she can be so ditzy sometimes.

" Isn't your dad really excited about the baby? Aren't he and Niko already setting up the nursery in Niko's old room? Niko will kill us if we jeopardize Mel or the baby. I don't think we should do this." Codie sighed. Why didn't she believe we could make this happen? Mel is just a girl. l don't care if she's pregnant or not.

" Okay what do you suggest, Mrs. know it all? obviously a girl like you should know that looks only get you so far and Niko doesn't even know exist." Codie doped Niko up with all kinds of shit that day. I have no clue how and the crazy bitch won't tell me. Then he drank a whole bottle of tequila and vodka with Seth. I know Niko was fucked up. He didn't even want to leave him bedroom.

" I think we should make it seem like Mel has already moved on, but it has to be with somebody Niko hates." Codie grins mischievously.

" Or somebody he doesn't know- like that guy Tommy from the club the other night."

" No, he has to be as strong as Niko. He needs to look like a goddamn model. Know the type?" Codie muttered scratching her head. I know the perfect guy. I know the lying conniving piece of shit. He would destroy Mel and her baby.

"Two fucking words bitch. Kaleb Storkmann." I smile.

" He's perfect! Are you ready to ruin some lives?" Codie chuckled, flipping her long blonde hair.

Oh fuck the hell yes.
