Laughter and smiles throughout the years,
where has the time gone,
now it all disappeared.
Nothing could go wrong,
it's a happy life, wow, I was so not right.
I had the best family, I had the best of friends, now that perfect image has an end.
Don't grow up they said,
enjoy your childhood,
I didn't listen, now what can I do.
Picture perfect people aren't so great anymore,
now I stand in the shadows scared until furthermore.
Did they change or did I finally open my eyes,
either way, I cry.
So much childhood trauma,
at what cost though, i've lost my glow.
No more smiles, i've lost my laugh,
don't blame me, you took what I had.
You may blame me,
but now I see the reality.
