Walking In Fear

I'm walking through the halls,
hearing whispers all around me,
hearing my name,
hearing gossip and rumors all about me.
When in reality it's not even the case,
heck no one's even seen my face.
Walking through the halls,
I have my head down, don't look up,
and try not make eye contact with anyone.
I felt pressured not to trip or slip once,
or else I'll be the laughingstock for months.
Which probably isn't true,
but that sure is what I thought I knew.
I don't have control over it,
I wish I could stop,
but that's asking too much.
