Lonely Childhood

Every day I would run up and say
"Mommy and daddy! Can we play?"
They said "No, another day."
That's how it went every time,
so now I don't even try.
"Why are you on your phone all the time!"
sorry just trying to get by.
"Let's do something together" you say,
but then cancel and reschedule for another day.
I'm tired of waiting,
you say you were their for though out my life, yeah right.
Don't you remember when I'd say,
"Daddy can you teach me to ride a bike?"
"Later, now get out of my sight."
You blame me for the way I act,
just face the fact, that this is the impact.
You want to hang out now,
it's to late,
years later I refuse to wait.
