Katie Routledge sat in the corner of the sofa while her brother, John B Routledge, sat opposite her on the chair. They sat in complete silence as Sheriff Peterkin walked through their home.

"Okay," Peterkin said as she approached the teens, "I haven't found anything suspicious. No drugs, alcohol, nothing. It was probably just foul play. Someone who doesn't like you very much."

Katie let out a sigh as she looked over her brother. He looked terrified. He was scared, she knew he was. He hated the police—they both did.

Having watched your father get drug away by the cops for money laundering is something you never forget.

"Thank you," Katie said softly, offering Peterkin a small smile.

"No problem," She replied, "Keep your circle small. It'll come in handy."

Katie nodded, taking another quick glance at John B, a tear rolling down his cheek.

"Take care of yourselves, now," Peterkin said as she approached the door, "Don't sweat this too much."

Katie watched as Peterkin exited the chateau through the front porch. She sighed again as she stood up and moved closer to John B.

"She's gone," Katie informed him.

He let out a breath he didn't even know he'd been holding. He looked up at Katie with tearful eyes, tears threatening to fall onto his tan cheeks.

"It'll be okay," Katie said, placing a comforting hand on his knee, "I promise."

John B smiled a little, trying to show his sister that he understood. But it wasn't really working because he was still so angry the whole situation.

Earlier that day, someone had called into the police station and tipped them off that John B and Katie were in possession of illegal drugs and alcohol. There were few people who knew that they drank, and they both knew that those people would never turn them in to the cops. So, John B's plan was to get to the bottom of who exactly tried to get them into trouble.

"Who do you think it was?" John B, pushing himself up from the chair.

"You don't need to concern yourself with who it was, JB," Katie said, following him into the kitchen.

John B swiped the keys to the van from off the counter before moving to the front door.

"I'm going to get to the bottom of this," He said, looking back at Katie, "Now, are you coming or not?" He asked.

Katie sighed before shrugging her shoulders and following her brother outside to the van. They both hopped inside, John B in the driver's seat and Katie in the passenger seat. John B took no time before he drove off their property to go and investigate who turned the Routledge siblings in to the cops.

The two siblings had picked up their friends, JJ Maybank and Pope Heyward, and now they were heading to The Wreck, a small restaurant on the island to pick up their other friend, Kiara Carrera.

"I mean, it had to be a Kook, right?" Pope said, looking over at JJ, who was too busy staring at Katie to even notice Pope was speaking to him.

"Hello? Earth to JJ!" Pope shouted as he snapped in front of the blonde's face.

JJ snapped his attention back to Pope and quickly responded, "Yeah, it could have only been a Kook."

Katie internally giggled at JJ's actions. She knew he had been staring at her, and it was always funny to her when he got caught. But, secretly she liked it. He made her feel pretty, and she liked feeling pretty.
