Katie didn't end up going home. Instead, she went to the beach, where she still was now, sobbing.

It was late, around 12:30AM, so there wasn't anyone around. She was completely alone with her thoughts, the ocean, and a pair of scissors.

She hadn't done anything, but she wanted to. She just wanted this feeling to go away, and this was the only way she knew how.

But she didn't want to disappoint her brother and her friends. She had been doing so well, and she couldn't believe she was about to just throw it all away.

After a while she put the scissors back in the van and sat back down in the sand. Feeling the sand on her body helped calm her down. It gave her a sense of feeling and control.

The sound of the waves crashing onto the shore calmed her as well. She always found the sound so relaxing. She loved the ocean.

She was trying to make her thoughts more positive, but it wasn't really working. All she could think about was Rafe, Luke, and her dad. 3 men in her life that owed her so much, yet gave her nothing at all.

Luckily, her thoughts were cut off by someone yelling her name. She quickly snapped her head to see JJ running towards her.

She stood up and ran to him. The two teens crashed into each other and wrapped their arms around one another.

"God, I miss you so much," JJ said, "I thought you were gone."

JJ tightened his arms around Katie, not ever wanting to let her go again. He couldn't lose her or he'd lose himself.

"Where did you go?" She asked, her voice muffled from his blonde hair.

"I was working," He informed her," I forgot to tell you guys. I'm sorry."

"It's okay," She replied, hugging him tighter.

Finally, when they pulled away from the hug, reluctantly, JJ held onto Katie's arms to keep her in his hold.

The stood silent for a moment, looking into each other's eyes before Katie broke down crying. JJ had never seen Katie like this. She wasn't even this bad when everything happened with Rafe and Sarah.

He pulled her into another hug and slowly swayed her back and forth. He rubbed her head, softly shushed her, and whispered sweet nothings into her ear.

"Do you wanna go home?" He asked.

Katie shook her head no. She didn't want to be anywhere near that place. She couldn't beat it right now.

"Do you wanna go to my house?" He asked.

Katie nodded her head yes. Even though Luke might be there, JJ's house was an escape haven for them both for when they wanted to be alone but together.

"Alright, let's go darling," He said.

He slowly led her to the van and placed her in the passenger seat. She'd stopped crying on their way to the van which made JJ happy. He hated seeing the person he cared about most upset.

He quickly hopped into the van and started it. He put it into drive and pulled off in the direction of his house.

The entire drive there, he didn't take his hand off of Katie's thigh. Despite her falling asleep, she still knew he was doing it, and she loved it.

When they arrived at JJ's house, he parked the van and turned it off. Katie was a heavy sleeper so he knew he didn't have to be too quiet, but he still was because he didn't wanna wake her.

He hopped out of the van and ran to the passenger side door. He opened it and picked Katie up bridal style and shut the door behind him with his foot.

He carefully carried Katie upstairs and to his bedroom and laid her down in the bed. He took off her shoes and kicked his own off before climbing into bed beside her on the small twin mattress.

"I love you Katie Routledge," JJ whispered, "I love you forever, and ever. I'll never stop because you're my soulmate."

He placed a small kiss on her cheek before wrapping his arms around her and drifting into a deep sleep of his own.
