Katie sat on her favorite log by the ocean as she let her tears flow. She hasn't cried like this over someone since she broke up with Rafe, despite what he did to her.

How could JJ be so selfish? Rafe is a person too. He needs to be taken care of. Katie thought she was making the right decision, but maybe she wasn't.

Maybe she was just looking for the apology she'd always wanted but knew she was never going to get from Rafe.

"Katie?" A voice came from her right.

She looked up to see who was approaching her. It was Rafe.

"Hey," She said weakly.

"Hi," He replied softly, "What are you doing out here so late?" He asked as he took a seat next to her.

Katie let out a breath to try a relieve some of her sadness, but it didn't work.

"After you left, JJ and I got into a huge argument," She said, "I don't know what the outcome is because I left before anything could really happen."

"What do you mean?" Rafe asked.

"I left," She said, her voice trailing off as more tears fell, "I left because I was terrified that he was going to hit me."

The tension between them grew even stronger in this moment. Rafe knew that this was his fault. He had been the first guy to introduce her to abuse. He knew that if he ever had the chance to go back and be a better man, he would.

"I'm sorry that happened," He said, trying to comfort her, "Do you need a place to stay tonight?"

Katie shook her head, "No, I was gonna go back eventually."

"Come on," Rafe said standing, "You can stay with Barry and I."

He held out his hand and Katie looked up at him. She hesitated before giving in and accepting his offer. She had no other choice.

"Thank you," She said as they walked hand-in-hand down the beach towards the main road.

"No problem," He said, "Oh, by the way, Barry won't be home tonight. He had some drug run with his friends on the main island."

"That's fine," Katie said, "I just need to sleep."

Rafe nodded. He smiled as he looked away from the girl, already thinking about what he had in mind for her tonight.

Rafe let Katie into the house he shared with Barry. Katie looked around, she was surprised that a house with just two boys living in it was so clean.

"It looks better than the last time I was here," She mentioned as she took a seat on the couch.

"Uh, yeah, we cleaned it up a little," He said, "We figured we should keep it clean."

"Yeah," Katie said, her voice trailed off as she noticed a photo sitting on the coffee table.

She looked closer at the photo and realized it was their first ever photo together. It was taken during the earlier stage of their relationship, when they were their happiest together.

"Here," He said, handing her a cup of water.

"Thanks," She replied.

The two sat and chatted for a while before Katie finally decided she was tired enough to go to sleep.

"I think I'm gonna get some shut eye," She said, "I've had quite a day."

She stood up to make her way to the spare bedroom, having been in this house before she practically knew where everything was. But, before she could get away from the couch, Rafe grabbed her hand and pulled her back.

"Stay here," He said, "Let's have some fun."

Katie furrowed her brows.

"What do you mean?" She asked, "You know I stopped smoking we-"

Before she could finish her sentence, Rafe cut her off with a kiss, something he liked to do often. But, Katie pushed him off of her and rose to her feet.

"Rafe, I'm with JJ," She said.

"Didn't sound like it," He said, reaching for her hand again, but she pulled away.

"Rafe, no," Katie said sternly, "I'm not sleeping with you."

Rafe scoffed, "Once a prude, always a prude."

"I'm not a prude!" She shouted, "I love JJ, and I am not going to hurt him."

She stopped herself. She didn't need to sleep with Rafe to hurt JJ, she already had. She threw his feelings to the side and completely ignored them to put Rafe up on some pedestal.

"You may have saved my life back at your house, but what you did to Sarah and I is unforgivable," She shot at the boy, "I can't believe I have been helping you."

"I'm too charming," He said, "It was only a matter of time before you fell for me again, baby."

Without thinking of what could happen, Katie slapped Rafe across the face. He stood still for a moment before turning his hand into a fist and swinging.

His fist collided with Katie's cheek, causing her to fall over into the coffee table. Rafe reached down and picked Katie up. He tossed her to the floor and began kicking her in the stomach.

"You ruined my life!" He yelled as he hit her.

Katie pleaded for him to stop, but Rafe was too far gone into his actions to be stopped. She looked around for anything that could help her. There was nothing...she was screwed.

For the next 45 minutes, Rafe continued his beating on Katie. After a while he decided to stop and go to bed, leaving Katie lying on the floor.

She'd done it again. She'd out herself in a vulnerable position and let Rafe beat her until she was black and blue. She hated herself for letting this happen.

She managed to sit herself up with a small groan. She took a moment before pushing herself up to her feet and stumbling towards the door.

"Shit," She mumbled as she slowly walked out onto the front lawn.

She didn't know what time it was, but she knew it was late. She sighed knowing that she was going to have to walk back to the chateau by herself...again.

She spit some blood from her mouth and took a deep breath before beginning her long and slow journey to the chateau.
