"You know I wanted to be worthy of staying by your side but I guess it didn't work out." Hyunsuk pouted with a hint of sadness in his voice, leaning his head back on Jihoon's chest as they stood near the window staring at the bright morning.
Jihoon moved his hands and gently caressed Hyunsuk's waist as he whispered in his ear,
"You actually don't suit me."
Taken aback by the words, Hyunsuk was about to turn when Jihoon nuzzled in his neck saying,
"You are so stunning, just like the sun that I can't even look at you. My world was a dark place until you showed me light and guided me into yours-"
"No stupid, its ours, our world." Hyunsuk giggled at receiving such cheesy compliments from Jihoon.
'Yes, ours.'
Hyunsuk was propping his head back up to kiss Jihoon until the butler who had arrived at the door suddenly coughed,
"Umm, seja we have a news."
Beyond embarrassed, Hyunsuk quickly pushed Jihoon away while correcting his posture.
"Yes, go ahead Mr Lee." Jihoon replied, slightly annoyed that they were interrupted.
"We found the arsonist."
Hyunsuk was the first one to shout an elated 'what really?' as he immediately grabbed Jihoon's arm with a beaming face.
Jihoon smiled back but it soon vanished as he realized the hesitant look on the butler's face.
"Looks like it isn't good news?"
Hyunsuk's smile too faded away as he waited anxiously for a response from the butler.
The unfortunate news to unfold was that Sera's court lady had turned herself in, confessing that she had committed the arson on the orders of the crown prince in exchange of receiving a huge sum of money from him. It was truly some news to Jihoon because he had never heard of this before or ever even had a direct conversation with that court lady in the recent times. He almost let out a chuckle due to the nonsensical 'confession'. But it was no laughing stock for Hyunsuk whose heart dropped listening to that.
The palace was not calm either, the great queen mother's chamber was filled with sobs as the queen cried, terrified at what turn the things might take for her son following that so called confession. The king too appeared more restless than ever probably because the situation was really out of their hands now.
"So he'll be called in tomorrow?" Her lips quivered because what it meant was that Jihoon could be taken in custody if the judgement went against him.
"Eomma the truth is not seen but believed, you have to trust him." Minji tried to console her poor mother.
"Yes we need to be strong in times like these, for our crown prince." The old lady added.
The king smiled through his teary eyes and circled his arms around his wife, "We trust him, don't we?"
She gave into his arms shedding tears upon hearing that. She was more than relieved that her son was not alone, he had his family and they all trusted him.
"I have always pushed him aside, I couldn't do anything for him while he suffered alone. I have neither been a good king nor a good father..." The king also seemed to have finally confronted his incompetency.
"Don't say that, if he pulls through this storm which I'm sure he will, I can only imagine how much stronger he'll be." The great queen mother strongly upheld her faith in the crown prince.
