We were on our way to the curtis house chatting as we walked. I was wearing some ripped jeans and a over sized shirt, with my black Converse. When we got there, before we went in, dally wanted to talk to me. "Ya know, they ain't gonna hurt you, right. Ya don't gotta be scared, ok?" He said. "K." I answered. When we went in, everyone said hi, but Sodapop asked me what happened, judging by the scars on my face and bruises and cuts on my arms. I just said that I'm fine. I didn't want to talk about it. Even thinking about it kinda took me back to yesterday night. Then I saw dally and Darry go into the kitchen, and after a few minutes, I heard Dally say, "Then, when we got to her, she was coughing up blood. They really got her good." Then I kind of zoned out, and then Pony suggested we play cards, so I joined in.
Steve's POV:
Damn, we we've only played three rounds until now, and all were with bets, and to my surprise, dally's little sister won all of them without cheating, and since two bit, Johnny, Pony, Soda and I were adding money every time. She won 300$ by now. After a few more games, we are all new. We would lose our money to this girl, I thought girls couldn't play card games. Or bet at all. Well, I guess I was wrong.
Ponyboy's pov:
We stopped playing cards. Scarlet was good, I lost a bunch of money to her. Now everyone was just chatting with each other, but Scarlet wasn't talking to anybody. So I talked with her. Turns out she also loves books and is in the middle of gone with the wind. Later, johnny joined the conversation, and we were talking and playing card games until the evening. Then dally and Scarlet went home, Steve took the couch, and two bitand Johnny went home. Then we all went to sleep.
