Day 38 on Survivor Island

[Grace is heading off to check on Laura when she is intercepted by Roman Brady, looking highly concerned.]

Roman: Hey Doc, why in such a hurry.

[Irritably] I have things to do Roman, if you'll excuse me.

Roman: [Catches her arm.] Doc, please, talk to me. I know there's something wrong, won't you tell me what it is?

[Plasters a smile on her face and turns back to him.] Nothing's wrong Roman. I'm fine. Just feeling a little claustrophobic.

Roman: C'mon Doc, you walked away from Belle when she was crying. That's not like you at all.

Isn't it? [Cocks one eyebrow.] And how would you know what's "like me" Roman? You've been around Salem *so* much in the past five years, haven't you?

Roman: [Softly] I just want to help you Doc, that's all.

[Shrugging off his touch.] You can help me by letting me alone. God, can't you take a hint? Do you have to keep following me around like a pathetic puppy dog? Roman, I don't want you and I don't want your help.

Roman: [Narrows his eyes slightly.] What the hell is wrong with you Marlena? Have you set yourself some kind of mission to piss everyone on this island off by the end of the game? Cause you're going the right way about it.

[With a bitter smile.] Good. Perhaps you'll all stop being so irritatingly sympathetic and smugly helpful then. [Turns around and storms off into the woods.].

[Sam wanders up to Roman, her expression tentative as she watches the receding figure of her twin.]

Sam: Wow, someone's got a wicked bad case of PMS. Maybe the best way you could help her right now is digging through the crate for some of that Midol.

[Roman turns and looks at Sam and then shaking his head, he walks thoughtfully back to camp.]

Roman Brady *Confessional*

[After Roman watches Marlena leave and he and Sam talk about Marlena's moods, Roman starts to head back to camp. Roman stops and decides to go back and talk more with Sam.]

Roman: Sam, we need to help Marlena, and the only way we can try to help her is if we work on this together. I know someone is playing with Marlena's mind and I'm sure it's Stefano but I can't prove it.

Sam: Maybe we can kidnap Marlena for a day, and between you and me, ask her some questions about both of us from 20 years ago. If she can't answer our questions, we'll know she is being brainwashed by someone on this island.

Roman: Sounds like a good way to start this investigation. You go find Marlena and get her to come to that big stump on the west side of the island. I'll be there hiding and we'll take her where no one will find us.

Sam: But Roman, what if she refuses to go with me?

Roman: Take this with you.

Sam: What is this?

Roman: It's something that will knock Marlena out just long enough for you to drag her over to the stump. Can you do it?

Sam: If it means helping my sis, I'll get the job done.

Roman: Good girl, now go and find Doc, and I'll head over to the West side of the island where no one is. I'll see you and Doc in about one hour.

[Sam leaves as Roman heads over to the West side of the island. While hurrying over there, Roman starts having memories of how he treated Marlena after her affair.]

Roman to himself: If only I would have forgiven Doc, she'd still be with me. Now she's with a man that doesn't treat her like she should be treated and has almost every woman on this damn island wanting him. If only Marlena could see John with Isabella or Hope, I bet she'd realize what a mistake she made by wanting John instead of me. Someday, I can and I will make Doc happy again. I need to talk to Tom Langan and get him to make me and Doc the next Tom and Alice. Since Langan, The Hack, knows nothing about what the fans want, I'm sure I can talk him into it. The Hack loves Jope and maybe with a little convincing, I can get Ken to let his best bud go and I can come back as the real Roman.

Roman has now arrived at the stump and is waiting for Sam to bring Doc there.
