Zoey's POV
The shock was still evident within my body and brain as I tried to wrap my brain around the complete shock of a baby. I was going to have an another human being growing within me for the next 9 months, I had created a little human, the thought was completely strange. The only problem was that I had been away from Ethan for six weeks, how was I only realising I'm pregnant now? The idea that a perfect, innocent child, half Ethan and half mine growing within my stomach was exciting and scary at the same time. What if the baby was evil? With this new information, I knew I only had 9 months to find Adam and cure myself of the darkness that lived within before the baby was born. I couldn't risk bringing the baby into the world when I was so unstable and unpredictable. My mind quickly flashed into the forbidden zone as I thought about what Ethan would think about our baby, he was a father now and I was a mother.
"First time and I get pregnant. Just my luck" I whispered to myself lightly rubbing my stomach.
I was sitting in the library of Cindy's pack house reading over records of ancient witch covens within the same area that I was born in the hopes of finding any connection to my mother. After six weeks my search for Adam has led to nothing but dead ends and failed attempts, he was a man that knew how to disappear. I closed another book in frustration as it had given me no help, I kept getting nowhere!
"Can I come in?" A sweet voice called from the door. I looked over to see one of the young girls in the pack standing at the door.
"Sure honey," I said with a smile.
"What are you doing in here?" She asked interested as she slowly made her way over to the table I was standing in-front of.
"I'm looking for someone. A part of my family." I replied.
"Why?" She asked again.
"I need their help to make me all better," I answered.
"Are you unwell?" She asked concerned.
"In a way. I really need to get better so I can go home." I explained.
"Well if you are looking for a list of people, Alpha keeps on in his office. A con-scense or con-cense" She said no being able to pronounce the word right.
"A census." I said confirming what she was trying to say.
"Yes! That. I heard him talking to about it one day. He said it held the names of all the supernatural creatures in the whole country. I'm sure you could find your family on that." She concluded.
A census! Yes! That is perfect. Maybe I could find my parents on it and see if there are any people directly linked to them I could talk to that would enable me to find them.
"Thank you so much, sweetie! You have no idea how much you have helped me." I exclaimed picking her up and kissing her lightly.
I ran from the room and down the hall towards the Alpha's office. I knocked lightly on the door and was meet with no response as I opened the door quietly. I looked around the door and called into the empty room making sure no one was in there.
"Hello." My voice echoed throughout the empty room as I briskly walked across the room to the Alpha's desk. I rummaged through the papers on his desk in search of the census, then I checked the draws and finally the bookshelves. I smiled brightly when I read the binder of a folder reading Census 2015.
"Yes!" I said excited and quickly pulled it from the shelve and made my way from the room and upstairs to the sanctuary of my room. I climbed onto the bed and opened the pages. My eyes widened at how many supernatural creatures there was. I thought it was just werewolves and witches but there is so many more. The book had pages and pages of people listed by their supernatural origin making it easy to find all the witches. I was shocked at the little number of witches that were recorded in the pages making me wonder how their numbers were so little compared to the rest of the supernatural community. I read name after name when I froze at the sight my mothers name. Emma Jackson- Status- Decease. Mummy, I cried softly. I miss you so much. There was one other name attached to my mothers line, a sister. Tina Jordan- Status- Alive. I have an Aunt! An Aunt that is a witch, she could help me to either find Adam or cure me. A new sense of hope filled me as my future suddenly didn't seem so dark and bleak, light had returned in the knowledge that I could one day return to my mate.
