I want to thank you all for your kind words and support. Thank you to everyone who sent in a review, whether it be here, on AO3, or wattpad, thank you to the few who sent me privet messages, I wasn't expecting that and made sure to respond.

I wasn't expecting so many people to show their support for me taking a break. It's been a little over a week since everything happened at the time I'm rewriting this and I want to let you all know I'm feeling better. All of your support helped, it helped me know I wasn't alone and that there was no need to rush while dealing with grief.

Thank you, every single one of you, for your continued support. Normally, the people who review are pretty constant, but I saw so many new names coming out of the woodwork to support me and I can not tell you what that meant to me.

Once again, thank you all so much your support has helped me so much in this last week.

Adriane stared at her uncle in surprise for a few seconds after he dropped the information that it wasn't Albus Dumbledore who hurt him, instead it was Voldemort.

She rubbed her eyes as she spoke, "I'm going to be honest, I've been so worried about Dumbledore that I forgot Voldemort did awful things to my family too."

It was clear Jack was confused, "What did Dumbledore do to our family? Last I knew, the Potter family was close with the headmaster?"

Sirius gave Jack a bitter smile, "You've missed a lot kite, it turns out that Dumbledore isn't who we thought he was."

Jack frowned, looking concerned, "I need to hear this story, that can be done tonight though, I wanna know where James and Lily are, I haven't seen them at all-" He stopped talking when he saw the stricken looks on both Sirius and Adriane's faces. "Why do you two look like that? What happened to James and Lily?"

Jack was concerned when his niece hugged him tightly, looking up at Sirius as he rubbed her back he asked in a soft voice what happened to his brother.

Sirius sat down and stared into Jack's eyes, "I'm so sorry Jack, James and Lily, they were killed years ago."

Jack's eyes started filling with tears, "What?" Sirius and Adriane could hear the anguish in his voice.

Sirius put a hand on his shoulder, hating that he was the one who had to break the news to Jack, Remus and Lily had always been better at comforting others than him, James, or Jack. Lily and Remus weren't here though, Lily was dead and it was highly likely that Remus had betrayed Sirius and his goddaughter for the headmaster.

Sirius was the only one here who could tell Jack what happened, he would never make Adriane tell him. She had gone through so much already, this was the least he could do for her.

So if him telling and helping to comfort Jack would help lessen her load then he would willingly do so.

"On the halloween after Adriane's first birthday Voldemort found them, he killed James and Lily before trying to kill Adriane-" Jack cried out in horror as his grip on his niece tightened.

He kept reminding himself that Adriane was right here, in his arms but it was hard hearing that the monster who had hurt him tried to kill his niece and succeeded in killing his brother and his sister-in-law.

How had he not learned of this before now? Adriane was almost fifteen, which means a little less than fourteen years have passed since James's and Lily's deaths. He should have heard something about it, he should have gotten an owl to come in for their will reading at the least.
