Chapter 18

A couple of weeks later, Adriane was scowling as she left McGonagall's office. She couldn't believe that the professor wanted her to open the Yule ball dance with the other champions. Adriane had tried to refuse but, Mcgonagall was insistent. In her mind, "Harry" had to open the dance, or else he would make a mockery out of the tournament and Hogwarts as a whole.

Adriane didn't even bother trying to explain that her being in the tournament was already making a mockery out of it. She just rolled her eyes and walked away after McGonagall was finished speaking. Adriane didn't bother explaining that there was no way she would ever willingly participate in anything that she didn't need to.

She was only in the tournament because Adriane didn't want Dumbledore suspicious of her. Adriane went back to the chamber while grumbling softly. "Wish I could just leave for the break-" Adriane stopped right there and stared at the wall in front of her blankly.

Why couldn't she leave for break exactly? Sure, people might try and stop her but, if she just snuck out and went to another country then they wouldn't be able to find her at all! She was starting to get excited and wondered where she should go.

Adriane didn't even notice that in her happiness and excitement she started floating. She did remember that she had heard of Superman mostly being around a metropolis. Maybe, just maybe, she could go and meet him?

She would have to find a way to get his attention of course, but that shouldn't be too hard. After all, he was bound to show up sometime and when he did she would just swoop over to where he had been seen.

Adriane started packing her trunk right away, getting plenty of clothes to last her for the break. She also packed her training weights that she wasn't wearing at the moment.

"Winky!"

"Yes, Mistress Adriane?"

Adriane rolled her eyes fondly, "Winky can you take care of Usagi while I'm gone? I'm leaving for the break to go and meet someone who can teach me more about my powers."

Winky nodded, "Yes Ma'am, Winky can be doing this for you!" Winky then popped away, leaving Adriane smiling fondly at where the tiny house elf had been. Adriane turned back to her packing as she made sure she would have everything she would need.

Training weights, Check.

Clothes for all occasions, check.

Toiletries, check.

Money, check.

Books, check.

And a lot more things to do in any spare time she would have. She even packed a camera to take pictures of her vacation.

She truly couldn't wait until it was time to leave, she would wait until the day after the other students left to give Dumbledore the idea that she was going along with the Yule Ball idea. When he lets his guard down the day after she would silently sneak out from the forbidden forest and then fly away to the airport.

Adriane got an idea and walked to her desk and started writing a letter.

Dear Grinlast,

I am writing to inform you that during the Christmas break I shall be going over to the United States to hopefully meet the superhero named Superman. I can feel you judging his name from here so I shall inform you that he did not choose this name, it is what the public named him and he just went with it. He is also from the planet Krypton like my birth mother. It appears that his parents managed to save him and his cousin, Supergirl, Just like my mother managed to save me.
